Wow!

Intelligence Community pushes back against a White House it considers leaky, untruthful and penetrated by the Kremlin

Our Intelligence Community is so worried by the unprecedented problems of the Trump administration—not only do senior officials possess troubling ties to the Kremlin, there are nagging questions about basic competence regarding Team Trump—that it is beginning to withhold intelligence from a White House which our spies do not trust.

That the IC has ample grounds for concern is demonstrated by almost daily revelations of major problems inside the White House, a mere three weeks after the inauguration. The president has repeatedly gone out of his way to antagonize our spies, mocking them and demeaning their work, and Trump’s personal national security guru can’t seem to keep his story straight on vital issues.

Like I said in another thread, worst president ever...proven within a month.

Apparently our press is unfamiliar with Peter and the Wolf.

Lies.

You usual response when it comes to dissent from your Dear Leader, you have it bad, clouds your judgement.

It's true. This White House is leaky, but one has to consider how many Obama hold overs are around, and if they might not be the sources.

Mags, it would be helpful if you tell us how you know the OP is a lie.

I don't "know" it's a lie. I believe it's a lie.

With all of the baloney swirling around President Trump, I, and many millions of others, I think, have been de-sensitized against the anonymous sources that would rip our government to shreds.

Others want to believe it, I won't argue with them. But trust that Imwill voice my opinion loud and clear until somebody brings out the handcuffs.

Must. Defend. Trump, at all costs.

Now SIGINT confirms that some of the non-salacious parts of what Steele reported, in particular how senior Russian officials conspired to assist Trump in last year’s election, are substantially based in fact. This is bad news for the White House, which has already lashed out in angry panic, with Press Secretary Sean Spicer stating, “We continue to be disgusted by CNN’s fake news reporting.”

That is hardly a denial, of course, and I can confirm from my friends still serving in the IC that the SIGINT, which corroborates some of the Steele dossier, is damning for the administration.

I'm sure you do.

Hillary was right. Trump is Putin's puppet. And, so are all the Trumpy apologists.

Nice attempt at deflection.

That was a lie, as confirmed by an extensively sourced bombshell report in The Washington Post, which makes clear that Flynn grossly misrepresented his numerous conversations with Kislyak—which turn out to have happened before the election too, part of a regular dialogue with the Russian embassy. To call such an arrangement highly unusual in American politics would be very charitable.

I never knew such extreme partisanship even existed in this country until I started seeing the usual suspects defend Trump regardless how obvious it is becoming that his loyalties are not with the American people.

Word.

Just let this sink in for a second.

What’s going on was explained lucidly by a senior Pentagon intelligence official, who stated that “since January 20, we’ve assumed that the Kremlin has ears inside the SITROOM,” meaning the White House Situation Room, the 5,500 square-foot conference room in the West Wing where the president and his top staffers get intelligence briefings. “There’s not much the Russians don’t know at this point,” the official added in wry frustration.

None of this has happened in Washington before. A White House with unsettling links to Moscow wasn’t something anybody in the Pentagon or the Intelligence Community even considered a possibility until a few months ago.

All I can say is, "Holy ****!"

Nice attempt at deflection.

Not a deflection at all. A statement of fact. There are many Obama hold overs in this administration.

Further, given the acrimony of the election, it is reasonable that many would have the motivation to sabotage the Trump administration.

Obama never had deep and frankly inexplicable connections to the Kremlin. Obama did not appoint Cabinet members and senior staff who had deep connections to Putin and the Kremlin. There are so many dotted lines from the Trump administration leading to Washington they cannot be ignored.

And why would Obama hold overs with the highest levels of access to relevant intelligence (if any are still around) be security risks?

Until Team Trump clarifies its strange relationship with the Kremlin, and starts working on its professional honesty, the IC will approach the administration with caution and concern.

Oohh. Maggie! Handcuffs! Hmm. . . . . . ;)

'White House Penetrated By Kremlin' = sounds like a great title for an evil action thriller porno with an international flare ........

Oh, stop it. Flynn is not an Obama holdover--in fact he was fired by the Obama admin. You can shut off the bull**** pump now. No one with half a brain is buying it.

Awesome is watching all the Trumpettes rushing to the rescue. But, those of us not living in that bubble see the writing on the wall.

Does this mean Flynn will be fired? No, absolutely not. Flynn is a longtime Trump partisan, and Trump values loyalty greatly.

It does, though, mean that he might want to start polishing his resume. As Chris Christie learned during the transition, Trump is perfectly happy to toss a loyalist to the wolves if they get ensnared in a scandal that shows little sign of going away. And that’s exactly where Flynn is now.

I think there's a re-phrase needed here. I'd expect many dotted lines between the Trump administration and Washington, aren't they, after all, the administration that is in DC?

And why would Obama hold overs with the highest levels of access to relevant intelligence (if any are still around) be security risks?

Well, we'll see how this administration handles the Russians. From what I've head reported is the Russians are moving more troops and / or escalating the troops there's activities.

On balance, the US military has moved tanks into Latvia, for military exercises no doubt.
