Well the TDS sure runs rapid in this thread. But hey when you consider that the Trump administration in one year has just about neutered the Obama administration of 8 years and even a couple of feckless years of the Bush administration, it is understandable.

There are tons of elections around the country. Both sides lose and gain seats and the party in power usually always loses seats. It's historic fact. But, neither side is smart enough to figure out that voters don't want either party in complete control. Not Republicans and not Democrats either.

The party in power almost always loses seats in the midterms so there is really no surprise there. Doesn't have anything to do with Trump or the Republicans. You are making the same mistake that both parties make all the time. Whenever they gain in the midterms it is because they think voters are sick of one party and want the other party back when, in reality, voters don't want either party in total control because neither party knows how to govern. That's why we have this constant flip flopping back and forth. If either party actually ever got smart and realized voters don't want either party in control, the party could make the changes necessary to stay in power for very long periods. But, both parties are way too stupid to figure this out. They never change. They just wait for the other party to fail and then the flip flopping starts all over again.

I've been going through this flip flopping for decades so no need to prepare myself. As an Independent though I get sick and tired of having to decide between the lesser of two evils. America needs a choice that isn't evil and neither the Democrats or the Republicans offer it. I'm hoping that in 2020 we have an independent ticket of Kasich/Hickenlooper. I didn't vote for Trump last time and I probably won't in 2020.
