The GOP rejects reality and truth and has its own propaganda outlet in Fox News for their alternate facts. Donald Trump wants a state news outlet like his buddy Vlad Putin and Kim in North Korea have.

IF he was a leader instead of a whiney cry baby he'd figure out why they are hostile and bring them into his camp instead of calling them "fake news" and being more divisive.

I do blame him for the divisiveness our country is now embroiled in.

It really shouldn't be surprising to you that a network that was created specifically as a right-wing propaganda outlet would say that about the other network news channels it was trying to suck customers from.

It is of course a very stupid and dishonest thing to say. These days, people consume a huge range of media: TV cable, TV broadcast, print media, electronic versions of print media, electronic-only media (text, podcasts, etc). Now the balance of right/left people in this country is about 40/60 or 45/55 depending (we only seesaw 50/50 in terms of power thanks to the EC and GOP-friendly redistricting schemes). So the total available media is similarly balanced.

So let's put this lie to rest. "The media" is not a "Democratic Party propaganda" outlet. There is left-lean and right-lean media to all sorts of degrees.

Thats not even close to an excuse. If you don't even make the effort to find a single comedian that could make fun of the political theater you are just making excuses for a lame attempt. You can't blame Trump for the ignorance of the idiots who thought that line of disgusting regurgitation's would be acceptable. There is no situation so impossible you can't humor. Comedians are doing it like Bill Burr, Jamie Fox, Dave Chappelle, and a host of other comedians that is funny is good taste.

There was a recent study that concluded 90% of all MSM news stories show Trump in a negative light. That's not an independent news. How many times has CNN had to retract a news story or had what they reported be totally discredited the next day.

I can see why Trump would want no part of pretending to be buddy ol' pal ol' chum with those people. They hate his guts and are probably just as happy that he doesn't show his face, as he is to not be there.

There may be other problems with what you said, but the one that choked all that off is the bold and red. Definition games. Doesn't matter whether it's your idea or the idea of whom you got it from, but "MSM" is invariably defined to mean a subset of total left-leaning media when a right wing news source wants to dishonestly present itself as an underdog.

There has always been an expectation that the press would be at least somewhat fair and exhibit journalistic professionalism. That hasnt been the case since about mid 2015.

Look...the press HATES Trump. Trump has no love for the press. Both the media and Trump are douchebags. So why hold an event that everyone knows is a farce?
 
I thought it was a great achievement for Trump to admit that he was orange. It shows progress.

while i think that they should just cancel the event until we have a normal president again, there is an alternative : have the correspondents dinner at a different site and invite Obama as the keynote speaker. Tweety would get so mad that he'd probably try to figure out the nuke codes. that would be some next level trolling right there.

I didn't say that, but it is a "President's" job to bring the whole country together, tRump has done everything but. In fact no President, ever before has made it his policy to be as divisive and possible.

Trump's blood runs cold and the spite demons start talking to him when he hears anything negative about himself so he stays away in order to keep the whole country seeing him losing his mind in public. To this day I swear he hated obama when the then president made fun of him at one of the dinners. Why else does trump try to dismantle everything obama did if not for spite to 'show him'.
