Which country today best exemplifies the Green New Deal?

It's the type of frantic nonsense you'd expect from the fringes. Hey, let's disrupt the entire economy to combat something we don't even know we can influence and which is far from a proven threat to anything. I heard that halfwit Booker saying how the world has to stop eating meat to save the planet. This would be rejected as a comedy script as too absurd, yet it's happening.

Yet the fact remains, there are problems that need solving. What we have been doing has not worked and, in fact, has lead to these problems in many cases. New things need to be tried. Most won't work. Some will. This is no reason not to try them.

What is the colloquial definition of insanity? "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

Trying something new is what is needed at this point in the history of the country.

To my Leftist friends...

So far the leader in the clubhouse is North Korea.

You have any alternatives... please post them.

Trying to defend The Westchester Barista’s stupidity only reveals how far gone you are. Please do defend if you think this is something wonderful, rational, and realistic.

Such identification is simply... ROTFLOL... great. It’s the beauty of free speech.

But doing "something" isn't the answer. Doing something feasible is. NGD isn't feasible in any way, shape, or form.

Dismissing the whole thing as just a Chinese hoax is not a good answer either.

Because they got the version before it was altered.

Did you know that? No you did not. Why?!

because the Goebbels Media failed to report it.

What I posted is the original.

Thank me later.

Wrong. It was never altered. What I posted is the original submission to the House. The 'document' you are referring to was a supplemental speculative document one of her aides posted to her website which was subsequently removed. Conservative talking heads equivocated this with the actual New Green Deal in an effort to muddy the waters. And you fell for it hook line and sinker.

Of course. They start from a false premise and, therefore, can only reach incorrect conclusions.

It was desperation on their part. They know North Korea is a model country of the Green New Deal. They know it is a perfectly accurate analogy.

In haste, our Canadian friend threw a bunch of laughable cliches against the wall, hoping to distract.

The other Canadian blew up in a fit of anger, thinking that would solve the problem of my OP... of how seriously destructive the Green New Deal is. Yet, the poor chap failed to offer a single syllable of actual rebuttal.

And so it goes.

North Korea... the model country of the Green New Deal.

How did you determine this? The NGD is supremely vague and idealistic. There are certainly strategies to reach these idealistic goals that are unfeasible, (the supplemental document to which zimmer refers falls into that category) but maybe there are some more feasible ones. Why not explore the latter?

So what do you call it when people start with the premise that the unanimous consensus of every single scientific organization on the entire planet is wrong on climate change, but what a real estate huckster says in a political campaign about it is right?

I don't care what Trump thinks about CC. I had long ago reached my conclusion on that score. I see no need to argue with you about it because the CC believers have a vested interest, a political interest, in pushing that narrative.

Seems you agree North Korea best exemplifies the Retarded Green Deal.

Or do you have another example?

Homosexuality had been illegal worldwide since time immemorial.

It wasn’t a Conservative thing... it was a worldwide jurisprudence thing.

How many homosexuals have been convicted in the last 50-years in the west? A statistical zero.

Good try at deflecting the Retarded Green Deal.

Epic and desperate fail.

Agree? How could I? I don't know what a Green New Deal is.
And homosexuality is legal in every liberal democracy, made so in spite of the kicking and screaming of conservatives.

Bzzzt! Fail!

None of those is a "solid conservative value" except in the far left's strange little minds.

What, you're not going to trot out those 'small government, limited interference' canards, are you? Conservative values begin with a big, strong Daddy state and firm government control.

Exactly! Thank you for posting that. It states right there in the article you posted that it was a supplemental document (an FAQ it turns out) that was deleted from her website (presumably when she realized what was in it.) The "Stalin-like" hyperbole is laughable, of course, but the article states in plain english that none of that bullcrap was ever a part of the Green New Deal.

North Korea.

Only the elite fly.

Only the elite drive cars.

Beef? What’s beef asks the North Korean masses? No cow farts there.

You want to travel? Trains baby. If they let you travel that is. Or bicycles.

Guaranteed job? Yep. They get paid to do nothing productive. If the country was productive, they wouldn’t be starving.

Farm pollution? You gotta be kidding. They’re starving. The few oxen they have don’t pollute that much.

Universal healthcare baby. They’ve got it.

Never Never Land....

Bzzzt! Fail!

It was illegal in every state. Are you saying every state was run by Conservative Republicans? Seems you have a problem with history.

It was illegal throughout Europe. Not exactly the bastion of Conservatism... ROTFLOL...

That’s a pretty epic fail bud. But hey, I understand. When you support the NDP, this Green New Deal is just the normal everyday party insanity for you folks... and defending and deflecting in any way possible is just part of your game.

No snow shoveling today?

Tell me, what country better exemplifies the Green New Deal than North Korea?

None right?

Thanks bud.

Yeah... part of the retarded Green New Deal.

Why would they be taking it offline? ROTFLOL...

The USSR would have been a possible alternative, except they had 4 or 5 cars for the public. It was a big country so some people flew.

They used trains to connect people to work in the Gulag Archipelago.

Meat was rare. Beef? What’s that?

And farm equipment? People. You know the citizens would be sent to the country during the harvest? Yes they did do that. Saved fuel... and if they did not do that, more people would have starved.

Oh the Great New Days of the Green New Deal.

Velkum to Soviet Socialstic paradise of Komrat Kortez.

Sweden? Finland? Netherlands? Denmark?

Sweden? Finland? Netherlands? Denmark?

I’ve lived in two of those countries.

Lived on the border to The Netherlands.

Been to Denmark a handful of times.

You must be joking? Unfortunately you are not.

Those are Capitalist countries with failed socialist structures welded on, sucking the lifeblood out of the country.

Sweden, for example, was once a backwater, but lifted itself to the #4 economy in the world through capitalism, before double fisting the dagger of Socialism into their heart. They’ve spent the past 35-years trying to undo that misery.

Read the bull**** that stupid Barista published... and if you are at all honest, her ideas will turn the US into North Korea... with all the associated misery and mass death.

The Green New Deal seems to insist environmental goals cannot be achieved without also attaining social justice and income and racial equality. I don’t see that those are necessarily connected; those issues seem to be conflated to widen political support.

Pursuing an earth-friendly lifestyle may or may not produce better jobs.

I think you are the one who didn't read the Green New Deal. You are doing nothing more than regurgitating conservative talking points even after they have been debunked. I don't think you have any leg to stand on when judging another poster's honesty.

First off, you've trotted out the BIGGEST canard; that the actions of the Republican Party have any correlation to conservative principles. They rarely do. Republicans are politicians, not ideological gate keepers.

Not sure about which country but I am sure of the state. It's the one you live in, the great state of denial.

As you say the GND is vague and idealistic. What's to explore? We've had a High Speed Rail fiasco here in California for over a decade - it was supposed be done next year - now the estimate is 2033.

Dismissing the whole thing as just a Chinese hoax is not a good answer either.
Yes, it is. What eever a "Chinese Hoax" is, GND is a cousin. Building a high speed rail network that will render air travel obsolete in twelve years is fantastical. California has been working on HSR from LA to SF for over a decade and so far the only thing it's created are cost overruns and milestones constantly moving further out. Gov Gavin Newsom has put most of it on hold to focus on a hundred mile stretch from nowhere to nowhere.

C'mon. Pay attention. We're talking about how homosexuality became legal, not where or why it was ilegal. It was liberals who fought that fight, just like it's liberals who fight for an end to drug prohibition. And guess who they have to fight against, every step of the way? Yeah, those guys. Conservatives. And you watch- the next one will be assisted suicide. Liberals will win that right but they'll fight against conservatives every step of the way
Every right and freedom you enjoy was won for you by liberals. That's the truth you guys can't face. Women's rights, civil rights, even the gun rights Americans hold dear were won by liberals. Hey, how does that sound to you? America has about the most liberal gun laws in the western world! And conservatism is about hang fire.
