When its too late for an abortion

Being a male it wouldn't matter if I accepted it or not, but I wouldn't accept prosecuting a woman who broke the law.

IMO, to procreate or not procreate, is just as unalienable a Right as Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. After all, women are natures creator of human life, so I'll leave the decision to procreate or not solely to them individually.

Then you would not accept a law that prohibited abortion. Because in your opinion abortion should be legal. Then how can you condemn pro-life people for refusing to accept abortion on demand? they are expressing their opinion.

Re: Every citizen gets a vote

I think we all agree there's nothing wrong with trying to talk her out of it. And that we all need to respect the law; whatever it is....

That would depend on how forcefully one attempted to talk her out of it.

Bad laws are more likely to be broken than good laws.

Making abortion illegal, criminal, and prosecutable, IMO would simply result in moving abortions underground and more dangerous, AGAIN.

1.) well you just proved you dont know what a strawman is LMAO why do you post so many lies? by all means point out my factual strawman you cant! lol

2.) sure thats easy, you are prolife correct?

LMAO... I'm still waiting... still waiting...... quote me. and yes, I am pro-life. But I would never force my opinions on anybody. I accept the law, whatever it says. I'm still waiting to see those quotes.... :) :) :)

A.) keep the law prochoice ( RvW stands)
B.) abolish abortion except in extreme risk of life which way would you vote

how would you vote?

I actually agree with that last sentence. However, I support some restrictions on abortion.

I once had a female high school student who was quietly crying in class. I asked her best friend why. Then I asked the girl, who was raped, and whom I knew quite well, if she wanted to see our counselor. She said she would rather talk to me about it for now. I listened to her story, and she asked me if she should do something about it or just try to forget the whole thing. I said,"When you are 30 years old, how do you want to look back on this crime? She asked me if I would help her through the process. Along with help from the counselor, she sought justice. I ended up attending two trials. The second resulted in a conviction. Her attacker was a well connected young man from a political family. he got 15 years. I've seen Angie several times over the years, and she has never regretted her decision.

That is how I would talk to any young woman considering an abortion.

No one I've seen has demanded a pro-life person submit to an abortion, but should they choose to have one, neither would I condemn them.

There those who are pro-life and others who are pro-choice. The law imposes nothing upon them individually. Those who are pro-life can not be forced to have an abortion, and those who are pro-choice should not be forced to birth a child. There may be some who are incapable or unwilling to bear the responsibility of raising a child, and abortion may be the most responsible and rational decision in those instances.

And maybe it wouldn't be the right choice. maybe adoption would be the right choice. But pro choice should be a respected opinion.

I respect the Womans right to make the choice she feels best. It's hers alone to make.

As long as it was her decision in the end, and she is happy with it.
I was wondering if she had mentioned abortion before you uttered the words "how do you want to look back on this crime?" and she took that to mean her suggesting an abortion?

We never mentioned abortion. But if she had brought it up, yes, I would have asked her how she would look back on getting an abortion. In the case of rape, she would probably feel better about getting an abortion. But if she were totally against abortion, I would have discussed the possibility of adoption. If she were against both of those options, then I would encourage her to keep the baby.

I will add this. If a girl had been knocked up by her boyfriend, I would actively try to persuade her to keep the baby, or adoption. I would counsel against abortion. All the while aware that she could get an abortion if she so chose.

You do know you're no longer relevant?

What if the baby were ninth month and perfectly healthy?

I would hope the choice was made before then, but there are cases where women have become pregnant without knowing until contractions begin.
In the end, I would allow the choice to be made by the woman. Perhaps the Doctor could suggest adoption as a choice, but the final choice remains with the woman.

There we would disagree. IMO, ninth month healthy baby is a human being. I do understand lots of reasons for abortions, but within some limits.

So the Womans choices are abortion, or birth, and if birth to keep or make available for adoption.
I have no problem with making the choices known, and then accepting the choice the Woman makes.

I haven't seen anybody here 'forcing" their opinions on others. Expressing an opinion is far different than forcing an opinion. In fact, I doubt anyone on this forum has the power to "force" their opinions on anyone. I don't see any actual judges or legislatures around here. Or are you implying that only people with opinions different than yours are trying to "force" their opinions?

Wanting the laws to match your opinion would be forcing it on others.
