I'm tired of my tax dollars going to pay to keep rebuilding rich white people's property continuously getting destroyed by climate change hurricanes. We probably just need to abandon these towns and let the coastal ecosystem begin to heal. The longer we wait to adjust to our new climate reality the harder it'll be. The only places I'd spare that are places of rich cultural tapestries for people of color like New Orleans, but most of these coastal cities need to turn into ghost towns.

What’s a “climate change hurricane”?

:popcorn2: (No way this ends well.)

I'm tired of it too.

If people don't buy proper insurance...

Too bad.

But please keep in mind, this was happening in past years before anyone can claim from "climate change."

The government insures these home?

Don't rich people have insurance? They can afford it. And I doubt taxpayers are footing the bill for a rich person who has ample insurance coverage. Yes, we help out all the other disasters that strike for people who either could nto afford insurance or didn't have ample protection. THe rich don't need help, the poor do.

And there are disasters in every part of the country that requires help when it strikes.

Why are the poor living on expensive coastal properties?

Must not be too poor...

Maybe progressives like yourself should stop trashing beaches every time you throw a beach party here in Virginia Beach. 2 miles of trash, and over 5 tons of trash after the latest college millennial's got together. Much of the trash were floating beer cans, plastics, and submerged beer bottles that were left behind

And......These are not millionaires that live on "Chics Beach" either. They are regular work a day people.

Like you give a **** though.....right?

Some haven’t heard of the ‘pack in pack out’ rule.

I’m tired of my tax dollars paying for the consequences of stupid decisions to live in the middle of a floodplain and below sea level along the coast. No exceptions.

Looks like the aftermath of a liberal rally. Funny how conservative rally's are still clean when they leave.

Progressives are the first in line to cry their victim-hood over pollution and caring about the earth.

Meanwhile they are full of ****, and just as guilty as anyone else.

Are you proud of the hypocrisy?

Can you give any examples of this?

I mean, I agree that the state should never pay for people's stupidity.

These homes for example;

Google Maps

Just waiting for the next storm in the wrong direction.

And you know those people are liberal how? Plus, I wasn't at that beach and I don't litter, and in fact people who litter piss me off to no end, so nothing hypocritical about myself. Same goes for many other liberals.

Are you proud of your dishonesty and simple mindedness? And I already know you are proud of your hypocrisy, you right wingers don't even hide it

If by we you mean the govt, we will never stop, because a lot of those people are not rich white people. And we cant very well have them suffer the consequences of their poor choices.

Really, Nate?

Boomers have their McMansions and 45-minute commutes, their beach houses, their retirement homes in Florida with 3 megawatt air conditioners, big SUVs, twice-weekly steak dinners, and you're concerned there might be some trash in the way of your morning beach walk? At least that trash can be cleaned up. It might take generations to repair the damage done by greedy boomers and Gen Xers who have let the climate change crisis reach the tipping point.

These are middle class homes on the beach.

You can't except this simple fact. There are also many black people that own the homes along this beach.

So much for your childish rant about rich white people vs. cultural tapestry BS....eh?

You do know hurricanes do damage far inland as well. Right?

By the way, your "climate change hurricane" meme is BS. Here's a list of hurricanes that have made landfall in the US since 1851. Can you see ANY trend over the years coincident to climate change. I know as a progressive facts mean less than feelings and emotions, so I'm not expecting an forehead slapping revelations on your part.

From 1850 to 1900 there are about four category four storms. Since 2000 there are three cat fours and a five. Your source.

If a tree falls in the woods, and you aren't there to hear it, did it make a sound? If so, how did you measure how loud it was?

Less past populations, less people observing.

Keep in mind also, we didn't have satellite coverage between 1850 and 1900.
