It wasn’t all that long ago that the big box stores were touting 3-D sets. There was a pair of glasses attached to the display to sample the viewing. We bought a 3-D ready about 5 years back and it came with 2 pair of glasses and I don’t thinkI have ever used them.........

I got one and seen maybe 3 3D movies. Gravity in 3D is aways fun to watch, else 3D is a bit meh even in the cinema.

Itll come back around in 10 years. Some fads just wont die, or become functional.

Virtual Reality gaming systems are also slow to catch on. Without a larger viewing library, the demand just isn't there.

I don't think the streaming services embraced it, so it kind of faded away, for now.

DirecTV offered it on a few channels awhile ago, and I'll bet so did other cable/satellite companies.. But with the cable and satellite services shedding MILLIONS of subscribers, it fell to the streaming services to pick up the 3D baton. And they haven't..

I think its more the lack of widespread function. You can play games, watch pron, but until normal business has a profitable way to use technology, it doesnt become mainstream, or come down in price enough to adopt widely.

I had a 3D computer monitor. Watched a bunch of 3D youtubes and only one ended up having a real 3D effect on the monitor.

3D TV died the death it deserved.

I'm glad I never spent the cash on the technology as it was the wrong path. Sometimes however when you see some of the new 8K screens you start to see a 3D effect which doesn't need painful / uncomfortable spectacles to wear or make the illusion work.
