The talk I see far too often is who gets to be president. We the people are giving too much power to one person by focusing too much on one position in our government. What is the probable congressional landscape going to be when the new members take their seats?

Unless there's a Democratic wave far beyond any of the current projections there will still be a Republican House. In the Senate, Republican pick ups look good in Montana, Nebraska, and North Dakota with Wisconsin also leaning their way. On the other side Maine will probably fall to Angus King who will most likely caucus with the Democrats and Obama's coattails could be enough to take Massachusetts away from Scott Brown despite his solid favorability numbers. Nevada and Missouri are both possible to turn as well but are less likely due to Akin's stupid comments about rape, and Berkely's ethics investigation. All in all I'd say there is probably a 95% chance of a GOP controlled house and about a 50-50 shot at who controls the Senate with a strong possibility of a tie that will be broken by the VP of whoever wins the Presidential race.

A tortured post-apocalyptic landscape, lots of browns and grays. Some burned out stuff in the background maybe.

From stage left, Congressmen wearing clown suits and top hats appear. They all point at each other and sing....

who cares the filla-buster is used so frequently, republican senators have effectively rewritten the constitution. No longer does the majority work, a minimum of 60 votes on nearly every issue to stop debate and vote on the damn thing. The fill-a-buster is being used at an unprecedented rate. People always criticize the president for not doing enough to improve the economy. Really? And bills were being debated to death this frequently when obama first took office? Oh no it became out of control when dems lost the house and john boehner started crying his eyes out every time he saw george washingtons image

oh and mitch just wants the black man to fail? I think hes jealous that he looks like a ninja turtle

I think we need to take an honest look at things. First, the Republican party is about to implode. They are deeply devided from within. The old GOPers way of doing business is to compromise to get things done. The new guys (tea party or whatever) see compromise as a bad word. This is why congress has the lowest approval rating in modern history. Eric Cantor is wanting Boehner's job. If the GOP keeps the control they have in congress now, or even gain more control, they will become even more unpopular. It will be like giving the GOP enough rope to hang themselves. There is a real power struggle going on within the GOP, so it will still be a do nothing congress. If Democrats gain more control, and Obama wins, things will finally get done and we will see a much improved economy. One of the big reason the unemployment rate is so high is the lose of government jobs. It has been stupig for the republican govenors and congress to cut public sector jobs during an economic recovery. Spending money to increase jobs is a known and proven way to get out of a bad economy and debt. When people start working more, there will be more money to pay down the debt. It economically stupid to try and pay down the debt by cutting jobs. This would be the same as if someone who wanted to pay down their debt by selling their car where they can't get to work to earn an income.

Are there any sane republicans left who has the strength to fight tea party intrusions?
