If you like post-rock, utterly atmospheric guitar based music, I just stumbled upon this a few days ago. Back story: this band managed to stay together and utterly change their sound after the suicide of their 24 year old singer.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

And, of course, the immortal amongst all other immortals, that over which there is none higher:

Based on what you've shown me I think you would seriously dig the album Eingya by Helios.

I'll go to the Goog and check them out.

It's one guy. He's a composer. I just enjoy his productions and they help me concentrate. His music is not post rock. More ambient. But I love it's texture.

When I think of post rock the first name that comes to mind is Explosions in the Sky... Even though I enjoy Sigur Ros more.

You ever heard of the Cocteau Twins?

Third Eye Blind - How's It Going to Be

From the famous Barton Hall Show at Cornell. I was a senior in HS that year but I saw a few shows there: acoustically that field house really was wonderful and worth the drive up from New Haven. This was probably the best concert Barton hall hosted.

77 was a great year for the GD-I saw them at New Haven that fall and it was as good (though I cannot find much in the way of tapes) My freshman roommate had seen the GD at least 50 times including the Barton Hall show and he said the New Haven fall 77 show was as good
