WH and DOJ Officials Discussed Mueller Report Before Release

"The FBI conducting legal and necessary investigations"

Duh.

Then when the republicans do it to you, you will be cool with it. Did you notice Beto is gone with a bit of dox’ing, and Buttigeg is now the MSM’s darling, and Bernie is being shielded from bad press because he can’t win against the democrat swamp. The Republicans have picked Joe Biden for you because he is up to his ass in Ukraine (thanks Manafort), and up to his ass in shady Chinese deals. And you are being manipulated to ignore it.

The surveillance state screws everyone. (Print the above and see how accurate I am after the DNC convention).

The republican’s deep state is managing your campaign using analytics and planting phony stories.

Yes that is how it works at least it used to work that way. If the President controls the DOJ there is no rule of law and we have a Banana Republic. The DOJ's duty is to the rule of law not the whims and wants of the President. Barr must be removed by Congress for violating his oath of office.

It’s never worked that way. The DOJ follows guidance provided by the President, such as focusing on counterterrorism following 9-11, otherwise where would they get the funding and resources? Or the war on drugs. Or the focus on the mobs in New York.

A Chinook is a hell of a ride but when it takes off it throws so much crap around it'll bury one in one's foxhole.

I’ve been on a CH-53, but not a Chinook. Fun ride.

I don't think I've been in that one. Rode legs-dangling in a Huey.

Even a moron knows that the President cannot control an investigation of himself which is what Trump is attempting. Do you think this is a Banana Republic?

If you had doubts about Barr's integrity:

Okay, so what is this supposed to mean, in relation to Barr's integrity?

It's more of the "according to those close to" and "our sources say" shtick that we've been getting for some time now.

He'd want to, but if you are the subject of the investigation, that is a whole 'nuther ballgame.

You're Trump's butt boy if you show him the report first, giving him a headstart to twist the narrative, if you do that.

The only fair thing to do is just release the whole damn thing to everyone on the same day ( and release the unredacted version to the the appropriate committees in congress and the senate ) and let the proverbial chips fall where they may.

That is the right thing to do, but, no way is Barr going to do that.

Anyway, Congress is going to get the unredacted version, but there will be a court fight to get it.

The law is on the side of Congress

Wait. Who said that Barr just ran up and gave the report to Trump first, that no one else even got a chance to see it, or was informed of it?

You obviously don't get it. What's hilarious is if the shoe was on the other foot you'd be screaming bloody murder.

Given Captain Adverse's history on this site. I'd have to say no, to what you've just implied. But if all you can do is make an implication about his motivations. Then you obviously lack anything tangible at this moment.

What are the odds that the White House AG's rebuttal contains all the excuses Trump wouldn't say to Mueller under oath?

Mueller can't stomp on an official response while he's still a serving member of the DoJ. Afterward he could, but then the lies will be all history by then.

Did not Guiliani assert that the WH "rebuttal" to the Mueller report was of 30 or 40 pages ( or so ) to date?

HOw do they have a rebuttal without seeing the report?

When asked by Congress, ( if he had shown the report to the WH ) Barr barked back that (paraphrased) "I'm not going to discuss the details any more".

Surely, if he had not, he would have said so. He has admitted to discussing the report with Trump. I think he's stonewalling the simple truth that the WH has a copy of or has read the report BEFORE anyone else. There is strong circumstantial evidence ( above ).

My post had nothing to do with Giuliani, or whatever he asserted.

The post I responded was making it seem as though Barr just handed the report over to Trump for verification, right off the bat. Seeing as their is no problem with those officials in the Whitehouse that are allowed to see it, actually taking a look at the report. I'm also interested in seeing what is being implied with such a post.

Strong circumstantial evidence for someone getting to read a report? When we all know that when the report was done, people were going to get to read it and that included people in the Whitehouse.

This is bordering on lunacy.

The problem is that he's been 'open and transparent' to Trump and his attorneys for days. But with Congress, our government body that makes laws, he's hiding and covering up. It's scandalous how blatantly and willfully he's serving as Trump's personal lawyer, not the lawyer for the people of this country.

Peter Carr, who is Robert Mueller's spokesperson, just put out a statement ahead of tomorrow's press conference that Barr and Rosenstein are giving, that there will be no member of Mueller's team in attendance. Peter Carr will be there only because he handles the press on DOJ criminal matters.

Do you know what that means? It's like having a wedding and only the groom shows up, not the bride. Basically the Mueller team is not in agreement with what William Barr is trying to pull off.
Lol...you people are a real hoot! :lamo

Got to do that as well. Followed by repelling into a small rubber boat in the middle of the Rhine River.

It was clear when he refused to answer the question on whether the white house had seen the Mueller report. Are there any honorable Republicans today?

Yes. A few. And virtually none of them will have anything to do with Trump.

What did anyone seriously expect? I mean, c'mon, Barr's son-in-law works for the WH legal team for chrissakes.

Judging by the posts on this forum, a good number of the base would be willing to turn the USA into a banana republic just so they could think of themselves as "winners."

Really? Surely that would be considered conflict of interest, and Barr would have to recuse himself?

Imagine hiring the AG's son-in-law just when you need the AG on your side. No wonder the USA is the laughing stock of the world, it's becoming a banana republic. :lamo

William Barr’s Son-in-Law Just Landed a Job Advising Trump on “Legal Issues”

To the tune of King of the Road:

AG for sale or rent, decisions cheap for 50 cents.

No worries, no fuss, no muss, justice ain't gonna have no sense.

The investigation is over. What did Trump control while Mueller’s team was doing its work?

That would fall under obstruction of justice. The answer is likely in the report. How will any of us - including Congress - know unless it isn't redacted?
