Westboro Baptist Church keeping my daughter from school tomorrow

I believe they can say what they want, and I believe they can demonstrate. That does not mean I agree with it.

Actually as a parent, you have the right to not send your child to school whenever you feel like it. If you contact the school, they determine if it would be excused or not and I would bet this would be excused.

If you actually want to educate yourself with truancy laws for Texas:

Attendance Requirements


After too many unexcused absences, the school must notify the parent. A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days without an excuse during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” That means that leaving school early, or arriving after the first bell has rung, even if the child attended for some of the day, can count as an absence.

The compulsory attendance letter gives the parent notice that the student has accumulated too many unexcused absences (and should not have any future absences) and gives the parent a chance to make corrections to the child’s attendance record.

If the student continues to miss school, he or she may be subject to referral to a special truancy court. In addition, parents may be criminally charged or fined if their child has another unexcused absence.

If you read my intial response that has peoples panties all twisted you should understand why what you said is not relivent.

I said IF they were charged that i would not defend them. Under the law they can be charged for preventing their child from receiving a propper education.

I also said im unsympathetic toward bullies being bullied.


Now that ive corrected the record, you and the peanut gallery can back to your reguraly staitoned strawmen that misrepresent my position.

I kept my kid out of school to go fishing with me quite a few times. I guess she did ok, she has a bachelor's degree from Radford.

I support.a parents right to teach their children how to cruely forage for food by hooking and suffocating their prey for both food and sport. I would not charge you and if you let her sneak a beer in, i would issue you a good parenting certificate

What years did she attend RU? I was there in the mid 90's. Good school great legendary parties.

She went from 1998-2001

Yeah, please don't remind me about the parties. ;) I heard about some of the parties later on when her friends visited for her wedding. I did 20 years in the navy without getting a tattoo, and she had a dolphin tattoo on her butt 6 weeks into her freshman year.

If it makes you feel better I was gone in 97 so there is no way I contributed to her debauchery.
