We're caught in a catch 22 - work or self-quarantine

There will be far more people harmed by making the economy FUBAR than there will be from the virus, but tell the folks who lose their homes and can't feed their kids that it was for their own good and see how far it gets you. Good luck with that. But, you probably don't have anything to worry about. Do you?

On the contrary, I do have a lot to worry about. Where I work is a hotspot for these type of viruses, and I believe (hope) the company I work for takes proper precautions before opening back up, taking into consideration guidelines from the actual health experts, and not political pressure from thug politicians with an agenda. We'll see, but a spike or large increase in cases will just shut everything back down, or nobody will go out, thus cratering the economy regardless, with lots of dead bodies to boot.

It's a double edged sword, for sure. Maybe that logic can be used to console the folks who will be losing the shirt of their backs in a few months.

"You lost everything you own, can't afford to pay rent and can't feed your family, but we did it for your own good." I bet you know that won't sell worth a ****.

If we stick to our current methods for another four weeks we will be able to slowly be able to bring the economy back to more normal standings. Going back too soon will probably result in a large spike in infections and deaths and result in another shutdown that would probably last even longer and have a far worse result for our economy. Watch and see if we go back soon, not going to go well for anyone.

Better their shirts than their lives.

You have a political agenda. Therefore anything you say is a lie?

You're lying when you say there any doctors who have a political agenda.

You aren't concerned because you're flush. Aren't you?

Easy for you to say, because you know you won't be one of them. Willl you?

How would you know what my situation or anyone's is? But you really could care less. Think about yourself and your family. That's all anyone can do.

A famin will kill millions.

I did my due diligence long before this current issue, part of my Prepping mindset included financial fitness. So, yes, even though me and mine are in the high risk group, so are you. That said I know more than a few that are not in the same position yet they all understand the need to follow the guidelines set by the medical experts. Heck look at the Whitehouse guidelines, nothing is saying we will all be going back to work May 1st, it talks about criteria that is on the cautious side.

I never said zero doctors have a political agenda. You are lying.

A famin will kill millions.

Of course a famine will kill millions as it is today in Somalia due to plagues of locust. The US will not suffer a famine.

Somalia declares emergency over locust swarms - BBC News

Somalia declares emergency over locust swarms

Somalia has declared a national emergency as large swarms of locusts spread across east Africa.

The country's Ministry of Agriculture said the insects, which consume large amounts of vegetation, posed "a major threat to Somalia's fragile food security situation".

There are fears that the situation may not be brought under control before the harvest begins in April.

The UN says the swarms are the largest in Somalia and Ethiopia in 25 years.

Meanwhile, neighbouring Kenya has not seen a locust threat as severe in 70 years, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

However, Somalia is the first country in the region to declare an emergency over the infestation.

If you go to work and get sick, and you go home and get your family sick, potential death is on the horizon. At that point you'll be dead, and a shirt on your back is irrelevant.

Potential death is always on the horizon.

Your last argument is also meaningless. It is very relevant how much money you had when you died because your assets and obligations go to your family after you die, so your last sentence is actually woefully ignorant of reality.

If you die from the disease, money or the shirt on your back is irrelevant.
