Hell of a week, or is that Hell-week?

Six shocking climate events that happened around the world this week – ThinkProgress

European heat wave linked to climate change
Last month was the hottest June ever experienced in Europe...

Deadly rainfall in drought-stricken India
On Tuesday, nearly 15 inches of rain fell in just 24 hours — the worst Mumbai had experienced in 14 years.

Warmer winters producing wasp ‘super nests’
In Alabama, at least four super nests — huge colonies made up of the aggressive yellow jacket wasps that survive for a second year rather than dying-off in winter — have been spotted so far. Typically, only about one or two such nests are spotted in a year...

Rapid sea ice loss in Antarctica
...as much sea ice was lost in four years in Antarctica as was lost in the Arctic over 34 years...

Melting glaciers in Greenland are creating sand
According to scientists, 8% of the annual sediment delivered to the world’s oceans comes from the Greenland ice sheet...

More iguanas in Florida
According to scientists, climate change is helping iguanas spread further north and more quickly...

There comes a point when even the most ardent Climate Deniers will need to re-calibrate. Was this past week it?

Probably not. But, with each passing day we can see how obsolete that thinking has become.

Refute the six items...we get that "think" and "progress" are anathema to the denier crowd.

Only six items, out of the thousands of daily events.

Why do you think this has merit?

Really ? Hot or cold wet or dry there is no climate scenario that could ever exist that disproves AGW ergo it is a pseudoscientific religion and a big 'ker ching' for the governments promoting it. Its the bullet proof golden goose that is worth trillions in green taxes for them not to mention the control of the masses mindset via endless indoctrinated green guilt. That is true power and something all politicians crave big time :(

PS What is a climate denier ? I've been aware of the existence of the climate all my life !

Six highly unusual items in one week.

Believe as you wish.

You know, coverage of the planet and news coverage was less several decades ago, yet such events still happened, and more often went unnoticed.

Actually, it's denial which is pseudoscience. The AGW theory is quite scientific.

Thankfully the denier are becoming a smaller and smaller minority.

How people worldwide view climate change | Pew Research Center

On the contrary support for it peaked a decade ago. People in the west are now fatigued with being asked to loath themselves to an ever greater degree hence the need for ever more hysterical pronouncements of doom in the media.

The fact that the sky hasn't fallen despite all the claims that it would have by now doesn't help its case

Suddenly, liberals think that weather and climate are the exact same thing. :lamo:doh

I wonder what next week's "climate events" will be...

The only thing unusual about 6 highly unusual events in a week would be if that didn't happen.

Six unique events is not shocking. But each and every one of them is shocking on it's own. Take the European Heat Wave for example --->

European Heat Wave Shatters June Records in 8 Nations; France Set a New All-Time Record High | The Weather Channel

A heat wave has set new all-time June record highs in eight European nations and an all-time record high in France.
...
This also marked the first time the 45 degree Celsius threshold (113 degrees F) was reached in France, according to Meteo France and is the hottest day ever measured in June for the country.
...
Germany had its hottest June day on record Wednesday. The German weather service reported that 204 of its 451 active stations broke or tied their June record high,,,

For good reason. Have you read the Paris Climate Accords?

What is a "gender equality" section doing in an accord about climate change? One gets the feeling it's a grab-bag for every liberal cause under the sun; and I myself am a leftist.

More and more people are taking action on climate change.

There even the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, are worried about how more extreme weather events will affect their business.

'Barkindo told AFP that as extreme weather events linked to climate change became more common, there seemed to be a “growing mass mobilization of world opinion … against oil.”'

Extreme heat waves have now become the norm in Alaska because of manmade global warming.

"Record-breaking heat is now the norm in Alaska. It is driven in part by the feedback loops scientists have warned for many years will accompany anthropogenic climate change. For example, the present extreme dearth of sea ice in the Bering and Chukchi seas creates expansive areas of newly opened ocean, which transfer significant heat into the atmosphere. It fuels record heat waves, which further warm ocean waters and help delay subsequent sea ice formation. In turn, temperatures steadily rise in what Thoman calls “the escalator of climate change.”

The changes disrupt life in Alaska. According to the Government Accountability Office, declining sea ice and melting permafrost have put at least 31 communities at risk, with erosion imperiling homes, roads and drinking water sources. Three villages — Kivalina, Newtok and Shishmaref — face the traumatic realization that they must relocate soon or cease to exist."
