We Build The Wall, the group behind privately funded border wall, under criminal investigation

What contribution?

The contribution made by individuals and organization to WBTW for the purpose of building the wall as they promised and say has happened to the tune of $6 to $8 million, so far.

No one has given the government any private money to build a wall.

These two hucksters made a show briefly of going to build a section of the wall on property owned by one of the contractors who has been buttering up Trump hoping for a no bid contract.

But they never submitted plans or pulled a building permit. So, the inevitable stop work order showed up.

Since then, nothing has happened.

This isn’t the first time that this couple has run some shady operation to take advantage of gullible right wingers. They ran a couple of fake news sites which have been subsequently shut down, as well.

The Florida AG could refer the case to Federal court where WBTW people could be convicted and then the sentenced commuted by Trump. Just like Trump has offered to pardon any of his staff who knowingly violate the law to BTW. The Trumpsters eat this stuff up. Red meat thrown to the horde.

No idea, and I honestly don't care.

For all we know it's most likely still sitting there.

Yup. Still sitting there. Never was there. Or gone somewhere. The same kind of phantom money that Trump promised from Mexico to go the The Wall. The same phantom money that after trying to talk his way out of Mexico money he said was being spent on his Wall was not. The same money you now try and pretend was part of what you say “was an obvious joke”, though Trump STILL says The Wall is being built, which is a lie.

You cannot refute the facts of Trump’s statements to do with The Wall, nor produce evidence that WBTW is spending anything on The Wall. So, I know that when you make statements…

“...Well, that's what I get for asking someone to actually supply proof.”

“Though it's still good to see that I can just make posters run by asking for something as simple as evidence.”

…they were meaningless because you can’t refute evidence provided you nor provide evidence demanded of you. You can’t refute that Trump is on record as meaning he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it. Nor, can you provide evidence that WBTW ever spent any money from donation on actual construction of a wall.

The only thing honest about what you say is “I honestly don't care”

Strange, you sounded like you had a point, if not for the empty chest thumping and any lack of actual evidence on your part as well...

Par for the course with you I guess.

Then again you can stop punishing the "Mexico will pay" lie. Trying to make a reality of a joke is only making a joke out of yourself.

You’re the one joking. I gave direct quotes of Trump in post #126 that are in no way phrased like a joke. His staff did not explain them away as jokes, or he would have upset his base. What you say is simply false and you are self-deluded or being wholly disingenuous. That sane and logically thinking people never believed a 2,000 mile-long, 30-foot tall cement wall would ever be built and that Mexico would pay for it doesn’t mean Trump shouldn’t be held to his word as promised. He fooled a lot of people for long enough to get their votes. Maybe one of them was you and you believed him to begin with.

I gave you evidence of fact that you cannot refute. What evidence to you have that it was all a joke and understood as such at those times?

:lamo Oh my, I bet you got conned by Trump, didn't you? He had you believing in the wall, didn't he? And you really believed he had some 4D Chess move that would make Mexico pay for the wall, didn't you? So are you now trying to get back a bit of self respect, and pretend you weren't played for a fool by a known conman?

Trump played his supporters for fools, and they bought it hook, line, and sinker. It was never a joke. They chanted it seriously at every single rally. Hell, they even cheered when Trump proposed the moronic idea of putting solar panels on the wall. Christ, you really can't fix stupid, can you?

They're trying to get back a bit of self respect. Trump conned them into believing he was going to build that wall, and that Mexico was going to pay for it. Even though all those not in the cult told them it was never going to happen because it was an idiotic idea. Turns out Trump played them for fools.

So now, in an attempt to gain some self respect, and so they don't have to think about how Trump conned his own supporters, they pretend it was all a joke.

Yeah. I both get that and feel it from those that take such a position. I didn't take what Trump said as reality nor that these posters are doing anything more than trying to save face. There will come a time when people will be asked how many of them voted for Trump in 2016, and it will be a lower % than those who actually did. That's also "saving face".

Which were a joke, but I'm not going to be upset that you didn't get it. Hell, it mostly made me groan the time when he said "the wall just got 10 feet taller" But continuing to play this little angle isn't helping you or anyone else.
I don't need evidence that it was a joke, because you've been unable to actually prove anything otherwise. When we already know that this kind of BS is part of his character.

It could help if you were actually capable combating the man on policy, but none of you are even remotely capable of that.

So you have to stick to these little lies to tide yourself over.

Yeah, yeah keep pushing a lie. Maybe another sap will come along and believe it at some point, but I don't really see any chance of that happening.

I, like most people, are able to discern that “the wall just got 10 feet taller” was humor. But many conservatives said they wanted a wall and that Mexico pay for it.

A Feb 2017 article published a Pew Research poll revealed two-thirds of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, 74%, said construction of a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is an important goal for immigration policy. Conservative Republicans were as likely to say that the U.S. would ultimately pay as to say that Mexico would finance the wall 40% vs. 36%:

It’s the Trumpsters that are deluded by Trump’s “jokes”. They are serious. They want the wall, and many, about 1 in 1, EXPECT Mexico to pay for it. And, still, a MAJORITY of likely voters WANT Mexico to pay for at least some of the wall to the tune of 58%:

Most Want Mexico to Pay for At Least Some of the Wall - Rasmussen Reports(R)

But these are only facts. Not as logical and of rational mind like what you say as in “Which were a joke”; “continuing to play this little angle”; “BS is part of his character”; “So you have to stick to these little lies”.

These jokes and little lies, characteristic BS of your master Trump is eaten-up by his constituency as real.

Funny. You haven’t even said what your position is on the wall. Do you want a 30-foot tall cement wall running the entire 2,000 miles of the southern border? And have Mexico pay for it? What is it you want? If you can’t say what that is, you have no standing in debate.

Yay, grabbing opinion piece likes it's fact. I should've known.

Listen he never followed with any sort of call, or claim for a policy. For having Mexico actually pay for the wall.
Aside from this joke, the only other people that pushed the topic were the left trying to make something out of it, and that obviously never paid for them either. Seeing as they kept trying to make it seem like some sort of racist chant, or claim, and that never panned out in their favor. Accept to point out how much they relied on playing identity politics to even get what appeared to be an upper hand.

Are you really going to keep trying to push this lie?

What evidence of fact do you have to refute the evidence of fact I have given? Your own declarative statements don't count w/o evidence to back them up, for which you are responsible. Otherwise, what you say is unfounded and need not be debated any further by me. You can post all the opinion you want. W/O evidence, your words are worthless.

I guess you're going to believe an opinion piece is fact now?

Yeah, I'll trust the fact that he never actually did anything with this whole Mexico paying for the wall joke, other then talking about it.

If you can find someone who was told to look into seeing how to get Mexico to pay for the wall, or trying to apply some kind of policy that would have them do so. Hell, maybe you can ask a fired intern to "anonymously" break the truth to you..:lamo

That seems to be possibly the only way that you can give this lie any more life whatsoever.

Call me when the check clears. :2wave:

“I guess you're going to believe an opinion piece is fact now?”

I’m going to believe the many times Trump has been quoted as meaning just what was stated and take the man at his word.

“Yeah, I'll trust the fact that he never actually did anything with this whole Mexico paying for the wall joke, other then talking about it.”

Luckily, he never did anything about it so we saved taxpayer money that might have very well been wasted. Remember when he joked back in January of 2018 on an immigration bill:

“My positions are going to be what the people in this room come up with,” the president told the press pool. “If they come to me with things I’m not in love with, I’m going to do it, because I respect them,”.

Well, he was given a bipartisan proposal that included a one-year budget of $2.8B for border security, meaning the wall, which he rejected. Of course, because it was all a joke. You know, like when he joke-talks about all the progress being made with NK, that they’re not violating UN agreements, and joke-talking about the great progress being made with China trade talks that are taking place when they’re not. Joking, just like he did by saying Mexico would pay for the wall, that China was paying for the tariffs. Guess what? The joke is on the American people.

“If you can find someone who was told to look into seeing how to get Mexico to pay for the wall, or trying to apply some kind of policy that would have them do so. Hell, maybe you can ask a fired intern to "anonymously" break the truth to you..”

Oh, the “Oborosen rule”. Unless it’s an internal document with Trump’s Great Seal, it don’t count. Maybe Stephen Miller’s bloody thumbprint. But, of course, your joking.

“That seems to be possibly the only way that you can give this lie any more life whatsoever.”

Hey! Then you can, by your standard, reduce Trump’s 12,000 lies (and counting) down to…?

“Call me when the check clears.”

Call me when Trump stops lying.

Should we all here at DP check with you when Trump says something to know whether or not he is serious or just joking? I mean, why take the POTUS at his word until we check with Oborosen?

Again, you have no evidence to refute the facts of Trump’s statements that he would 1. Build a wall for the entire southern border and 2. Make Mexico pay for it. Oh, except for your saying it was all a joke. Each and every of the numerous times he said so. You might want to convince so many of your fellow, gullible Trumpsters that believe he meant Mexico to pay for the wall. If you can’t provide evidence as is your burden, I need not debate the point any further and your claim of it being a joke all along is unfounded and dismissed.

Yeah... so now you're just on a flaccid tirade.

I'll let you be on your way now.

Let me know when you actually come up with something that can at least be validated.

What can only be validated by AV tape and the written word on many separate occasion. But who's going to believe their lying eyes and ears? Oh, wait...not you, who actually believes Trump was just joking and is pushing such self-delusion beyond comprehension.

Every right winger on this forum defended the murderer when the case was first being investigated. Just like you are defending the grifters here. Odd how that works...

Wrong, I didn't.

Is your opinion always that wrong? Your posted evidence supports that position.

More of you lot are coming on this thread defending the gofundme kind of defeats your point...

No one has done ANYTHING of the sort.

We are, however, calling you out for your serial stupidity, and inability to allow the courts to work.
