“I guess you're going to believe an opinion piece is fact now?”
I’m going to believe the many times Trump has been quoted as meaning just what was stated and take the man at his word.
“Yeah, I'll trust the fact that he never actually did anything with this whole Mexico paying for the wall joke, other then talking about it.”
Luckily, he never did anything about it so we saved taxpayer money that might have very well been wasted. Remember when he joked back in January of 2018 on an immigration bill:
“My positions are going to be what the people in this room come up with,” the president told the press pool. “If they come to me with things I’m not in love with, I’m going to do it, because I respect them,”.
Well, he was given a bipartisan proposal that included a one-year budget of $2.8B for border security, meaning the wall, which he rejected. Of course, because it was all a joke. You know, like when he joke-talks about all the progress being made with NK, that they’re not violating UN agreements, and joke-talking about the great progress being made with China trade talks that are taking place when they’re not. Joking, just like he did by saying Mexico would pay for the wall, that China was paying for the tariffs. Guess what? The joke is on the American people.
“If you can find someone who was told to look into seeing how to get Mexico to pay for the wall, or trying to apply some kind of policy that would have them do so. Hell, maybe you can ask a fired intern to "anonymously" break the truth to you..”
Oh, the “Oborosen rule”. Unless it’s an internal document with Trump’s Great Seal, it don’t count. Maybe Stephen Miller’s bloody thumbprint. But, of course, your joking.
“That seems to be possibly the only way that you can give this lie any more life whatsoever.”
Hey! Then you can, by your standard, reduce Trump’s 12,000 lies (and counting) down to…?
“Call me when the check clears.”
Call me when Trump stops lying.
Should we all here at DP check with you when Trump says something to know whether or not he is serious or just joking? I mean, why take the POTUS at his word until we check with Oborosen?
Again, you have no evidence to refute the facts of Trump’s statements that he would 1. Build a wall for the entire southern border and 2. Make Mexico pay for it. Oh, except for your saying it was all a joke. Each and every of the numerous times he said so. You might want to convince so many of your fellow, gullible Trumpsters that believe he meant Mexico to pay for the wall. If you can’t provide evidence as is your burden, I need not debate the point any further and your claim of it being a joke all along is unfounded and dismissed.
