We Are Heading Into A Bottomless Pit

You must be right. Then again, your TDS (Devotion) syndrome is in high gear.
LOL, as I said your desperation is getting deeper and deeper. Now you've devolved into the gradeschool "I know you are, but what am I" phase. My only devotion is to sound classic liberal principles: low taxes, minimal government interference, and rewarding success, e.g. letting people that make the money keep as much as possible. If Clinton had even hinted of that thinking I'd have voted for her; but she promised "Obama's third term instead. That Trump adhered closer to that ideology than Clinton and has done a good job carrying through on those principles suits me fine.

If you're worried about ashes, stop setting fires.

Presidents come and go, and the republic will survive despite your claims that the sky is falling.

Until, of course, it doesn't.

I am often amazed at the bland assertion that "we'll survive this", just because... why? It can't happen here? Like the Civil War, two World Wars, the Great Depression, a terrorist attack in our own country? What is this storms confidence based upon? Here's a news flash: we're not immune. Recessions happen here, natural disasters, famine, water shortages, climate change. Like our planet, we're resilient, but we're not invincible. We should pay attention and take action. Overconfidence and complacency are common bedfellows, followed by "no one saw that coming".

No, what I said in response to your post was accurate about the post you made. The question is, are you oblivious to your own statements?

There are people who write things and don't understand the errors of what they wrote, and when the implications of what they said are explained, they think it's distorting what they said. The problem actually is that you do think what I said and appear not to understand the implications of how poor an argument you made, and so you want it only very selectively applied. That's your error; your words weren't twisted.

If you don't really want to say that the only issues worth being concerned about are ones that destroy the Republic - so that the civil war or the Axis in WWII aren't unimportant because they didn't destroy our country - then you'll have to do better at addressing the problems with Republicans and trump than your argument that 'they didn't destroy the country, so the problems are nothing to be concerned about'.

You will have not to be dismissive of the issues that was and actually respond to them, which you appear incapable of, and your post suggests you are not being very rational and this post will not be understood. You will just lash out again most likely. It's hard to help people who make the errors like you made. Let's be clear: your whole argument was, who cares about the harms from trump, the country will not be destroyed entirely. That's the bar you set. That's not changing what you said, it's pointing it out.

I'm rational, and as a bonus, I don't presume to speak for others. You keep making stuff up, precluding any reasonable discussion.

You can't handle a response to what you do say, is the issue. Since this isn't productive, have a good day.

You're assuming an either/or here--that either people are paying attention or that they are overconfident and complacent. There is middle ground between being hysterical and being oblivious.

Quite a laundry list of fears. There could be another civil war or world war or terrorist attack or catastrophic depression. There could also be a worldwide pandemic that destroys two-thirds of the earth's populations. And aliens could attack us from outer space. If fretting about all these issues and also natural disasters and famines is somehow purposeful for you, enjoy yourself.

Well, I've owned multiple businesses employing 100's of employees. I've had a life full of experiences and success. I know what works, and what doesn't.

And based on all that, you are wrong.

Liberals and understanding of economics. The twain shall never meet.

Actually Nota, the man made a great point. We never believe it can happen to us until it does. Seen it said a million times before as people lost their loved ones.

The only solution to that is prevention and especially when the problem is so obvious. We have a sociopath running the country and sociopaths have no morals, ethics, principles, or humanity. They have no ability to care. The door is open for everything and anything and so far the people that can actually can do something about it (the Senate) are not moving a finger to do anything about it.

It is too late when it is too late. Our thoughts and prayers for your loss is the only thing left to say and those words will be said to you and to me and to the American public by other nations.

This is an opinion piece so have at it.

Trump is doing to our nation what he did with the 6 companies he bankrupted and the 7 companies he failed with. His decisions have been all wrong and he is getting unhinged when he can't fix it by bullying or blaming other people (like Fed Chief Powell) to do what he wants, which in turn would further throw us into a deeper hole thereafter. He is raising further tariffs to "punish China into submission (which will never happen), or like he tried to do today, force big companies to look elsewhere for business other than China (which the CEO's will laugh at). All of these measures will hurt us a much as hurting the other countries, which in turn will hurt us all as a world-wide recession will occur. It is a no win situation for all.

All of this because he is trying to fend off a recession and feed his base what he thinks they want before the next election so that he can get re-elected.

Trump is using his power trying to force things to his way but unfortunately reality can never be forced into anything other than for a very short time, after which reality comes back with even harsher consequences.

Trump is literally doing everything in his power to disrupt our nation and the end result will be exactly what happened to him 13 times, which is failure or bankruptcy.

The only time he was successful at anything was with the help of the Russians through the Bayrock Group and the Russians want us to fail so they will not help. This was exactly what they wanted and they got the perfect person to accomplish their goals.

All of this heading down a bottomless pit is because Republicans are not stepping up to the plate to try to stop him from doing damage to our nation. This is not about politics anymore, it is about survival of our nation. What good will the Republican party be able to do with a nation of ashes.

Trump is the most incompetent person in the world and he is leading the most previously successful nation in the world down the path of not only implosion but economic catastrophe for the entire world.

How everyone that is a patriot and lover of our country cannot see what Trump is doing and step up to prevent it, is by beyond my ability to understand,

I do know one thing, history will not be kind to the Republicans that could have done something to stop it, but didn't!

Prepare for the worst. You will first see it in the stock market and then see it in your pocketbooks and then see it with unemployment start back up and in a fast way. Already many companies (other than the big ones) are at all-time lows and ready to go out of business. The big companies will survive a bit longer as they will get all the business that the small companies had to give up, but they will follow as well. Take it from me, unemployment will start to rise starting with the next report next week or latest the following one.

Mark my words, the United States has regressed. It has not gotten greater, it has dumber and will get poorer like never seen before.

TDS + Chicken Little Liberalism = your post.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, to me, and to the rest of the American public is what will be said by the rest of the world.

It will also be said "how stupid you were not to see this coming. It was evident and could have been prevented. We always thought the United States was the the most intelligent and we have been proven wrong". Thoughts and prayers to you.

People support Trump because they support his policies. The liberals here who like to pretend they are the smart ones, cant get that through their thick skulls. Instead, they accuse Trump supporters of being racists and Nazis because that is all the small minds of the left are able to come up with.

Last words said before a loved one got killed in a situation that could have been prevented.

Fletch, you have never shown the ability to evaluate anything correctly. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

The country is in a virtually unparalleled period of peace and prosperity and you, due to your emotionalism and hatred for the president, see the sky falling. Sorry, but it is you who have zero ability to evaluate reality. Now, it is probably mean of me to mock you but the TDS around here has reached such levels that the only sane response is to simply laugh at you. My thoughts and prayers go out that a cure may be found for TDS and that you may recover fully.

Unfortunately, if I am right there will be no laughing on either side.

But, but it's all over. Sniff. We're doomed. Check your breakfast cereal. Bet there are weevils in it. Ask yourself, "Hmmmm. Were there weevils in my Wheat Chex before? Nope. OMG! OMG! Trump is in league with the weevils!"

Sadly, reason, logic, and critical thinking skills bring us to this inescapable conclusion. I do wish it otherwise, but the slough of dispair is gonna look like a party compared to where we're headed. Oh, and now there's splinters in your toilet paper, too.

By the way and on a serious note.

I am not the only one that sees the "sky falling". Close to 60% of the population sees the sky falling. You will probably say it is "mass hysteria" but then again when so many are seeing the sky falling, there is a high probability that the sky is falling and that the ones that don't see it (Trump supporters) are the ones blinded by cult membership.

My success in life (and I have been successful) has always been because I follow the probabilities and more often than not, they do work out. In this case, there is a 60% of my being right and in your case only a 40% chance. Probabilities favor my side.

Last but not least, Trump did bankrupt 6 companies and failed at 7 more. Probabilities also favor failure here.

Let's also not forget:

1) failure to stop illegal immigration
2) failure to get an infrastructure program going
3) failure to institute a Health Care program
4) failure to reduce the Federal Debt
5) failure to unite the country
6) failure to reduce spending
7) failure to address natural disasters such as the one in Puerto Rico
8) failure to stop the revolving door in his cabinet and in the White House
9) failure to get competent people to help run the country
10) failure to attack (not stoke) racism
11) failure to solve the Trade War that he himself created
12) failure to help small business owners be more competitive
13) failure to get Mexico to pay for the wall.

I see now. The only solution, according to you, is to remove the "sociopath" because the "door is now open for everything and anything." In other words, the sky is falling.

Except that it's not.

Really?

You call this being a good president?

What has "he personally" done that is noteworthy? Don't say tax cuts, deregulation and the economy because all of that was the Republican Congress and not him. Other than getting elected with the help of Putin, a Republican 4-year old child could have done the same as he had nothing to do (other than sign his name) to what benefits came out of that.

Odd list of "sociopathic" failures you've offered there. I won't say anything; I'll just let you continue telling me how I should think. ;)

That list is not the sociopath list, it is the incompetency list which is even worse,

Here is the sociopath list.

Profile of the Sociopath

and, I am not telling you how to think, I am showing you how I think. This a debate board isn't it?

You can think any way you want and make your own conclusions. I am just showing a few of the things that make me think the way I do. If you decide to ignore them, that is not something I can do anything about.

Which facts are you referring to? The fact that Bernanke was one of the best Fed chiefs ever and did a lot of history research that helped him overcome the 2008 economic crisis?

Here are some links for you to do some reading.

By the way, you should know by now that I do not open my mouth to say anything without previously researching the topic or having been involved myself. You truly look like a ignorant fool every time you debate with me. Does it feel good to be uninformed?
