Leonila Guz of Kherson was selected Miss Ukraine 2018 after it was discovered that the original winner, Veronica Didusenko, was a mother. The selection of Ms. Guz was met with mixed results
in Ukraine. Miss Ukraine 2019 will be selected in a competition on September 12.

The first middle-sized reconnaissance ship (SRZK) for the needs of the Naval Forces, constructed by the "Kuznya on Rybalsky" shipbuilding plant at the commission of the
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, has been floated out from its dock near Kyiv today, The craft will next be painted and fitted with radio, radar, and optoelectronic equipment.
The vessel will primarily operate in the Black and Azov Seas and has a mission range of 7,000 nautical miles.

A train of T-64 tanks that have been updated leaves the Kharkiv Tank Factory for the troops. The plant will now concentrate on updating Ukraine's T-80UD tanks and producing the new T-84 Oplot battle tanks.
T-64 tanks will now be repaired and updated at the Lviv Tank Factory.

Peru has agreed to order an unspecified number of Antonov An-178 military transport aircraft for the Interior Ministry of Peru. The new aircraft would replace older An-32B transporters
also produced by the Antonov company for the Latin American nation. This is good news as Antonov needs new orders to maintain its Kyiv workforce.

Yevgeny Nikolayevich Prilepin (standing -- a/k/a Zakhar Prilepin/Yevgeny Lavlinsky) is a Russian novelist and a member of the Bolshevik Party. In 2017 Prilepin joined a volunteer battalion in
the occupied DNR. He is wanted in Ukraine for war crimes (executing POWs).
