35 years ago today. Soviet marshal Ogarkov denies responsibility of the Soviet air defense to the downing
of Korean Airlines flight KAL007 Boeing-747 over Sakhalin island in 1983 killing all 269 aboard. Yesterday
it was established that a BUK anti-air system shot down Malaysian flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine killing
all 298 aboard on 17 July 2014. The BUK system was operated by Russia's 53rd Anti-Aircraft Brigade.

Four Russian soldiers were reportedly KIA in Syria (Deir Ezzor) on 23 May 2018. This is the funeral for 25-year old soldier Kirill Polischuk.
You'll never hear about Russian war dead in the Russian media. Only in social media which is one of the reasons why Moscow is banning any
social media platform that does not make its content/encryption available to the Russian security services.
