The embroidery pattern can often say a lot about which oblast or part of the country an individual is from. Today is Vyshyvanka Day in Ukraine, a big holiday there which also signals the beginning of spring.

Ukraine National Police stationed at airports, stadiums, train stations etc. will now be armed with the MP-5 9x19mm Parabellum submachine guns rather than the traditional Kalashnikov assault rifle.
The MP-5 is a far less lethal weapon for halting and then arresting an offender in case of opening fire in a crowded venue.
