[W:711] 2/3rds of Americans want an assault weapons ban

They are not?

Are you saying it in the way that one can still buy them after a more thorough background check process or are you saying that such weapons can be acquired just like any other weapon?
Are you telling me that you can buy an Uzi online just like you can buy a shooting rifle?

ps the original intent of how to handle a firearm should matter.

no you cannot buy an uzi like you can a shooting rifle.
if you had any amount of knowledge on this subject
assault rifles are already banned.

there is no difference between
between a 30-06 semi auto rifle
and
an ar15 semi auto rifle.
as far as mechanics go.

That's really stupid-Scumbag laws don't change the fact that the two rifles function the same

In seven (7) states one doesn't legally function at all...

so tell us what the mechanical difference is between a 30-06 semi-auto
and an AR15.

how do they function differently?

or does one just look more scary than the other.

Makes no difference in the eyes of the law in seven (7) states... One you can own, one you can't

if you can't then you have no business being in this discussion because you have no clue
as usual what you are talking about.

I don't care about unconstitutional laws.
i asked you a question you refuse to answer why?

LOL... The law does not cater to your simplistic arguments... I am very familiar with the mechanics of both weapons, thank you...

The same constitution that empowers the supreme court to determine what is constitutional and what is not?

i am still waiting for you to answer the question.

what you people still don't get about the constitution is that the 2nd amendment is a limitation
on government not people. please learn what civil rights are.

You can't buy any gun online, without it going through an FFL dealer and you filling out a 4473 and getting a background check.

There is no need to "tell you the mechanical difference" the law doesn't care.... Seven states have banned assault weapons and with any luck, we will see a national assault weapons ban..

They are banned from manufacture or importation... Thank you Ronald Reagan...

No they aren't. With the correct FFL (class 7?) you can manufacture an automatic weapon.

Actually they do, because currently owned "assault rifles" were grandfathered in. So, lot's of them operate in those (7) states.

I don't care what the law says if you can't answer the question then you have no clue what you are talking about.

there is already a national assault rifle ban it is already in place.
how do you not know this already?

an AR15 is not an assault rifle.
AR does not stand for assault rifle.

An AR15 is not an assault rifle no matter how much you want to lie.

Not for civilian use...

Yes, for civilian use, since FFL's are issued to civilians.

The next big piece of legislation pertinent to machine guns occurred in 1968 with the Gun Control Act. The Gun Control Act established that imported firearms that had “no sporting purpose” were not able to be sold to civilians. Machine guns as a whole were determined to have no sporting purpose, and thus any MG imported after ’68 are able to be owned only by dealers, military, and police agencies.

The only machine guns allowed to be manufactured or imported after May 18, 1986 are for demo purposes... You really need to learn the law before offering your opinion..

are you unable to understand the fact that stupid laws passed by assholes do not change the function of a firearm?

It does change your legal right to own one...

wrong again-many police departments are using fully automatic carbines or SMGs

That's what you call civilian use? The law specifically excludes those uses/ownership....

Irrelevant, because they are still possessed by United States citizens, who have the appropriate license.

The writing is on the wall that America will join the rest of the civilized world and pass reasonable and sensible gun laws. The NRA is in disarray and voters are demanding that the senseless carnage must stop.
