[W:640] Why People Shouldn't Carry Guns

5/7/20

"An Oklahoma woman who was said to be so incensed that a McDonald’s dining area was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic that she shot three teenage employees has been identified by police.
Gloricia Woody, 32, was arrested Wednesday night after the shooting at the McDonald’s near Southwest 89th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, in Oklahoma City.
Police Captain Larry Withrow said Woody entered the restaurant at around 6:22pm and was told by workers the dining area had been closed for safety reasons.
Woody was asked to leave but refused, and police said a physical altercation then ensued between the suspect and an employee.
‘The suspect was forced out of the restaurant by employees. She re-entered the restaurant with a handgun and fired approximately three rounds in the restaurant,’ Withrow said.
One employee was shot in the arm, one suffered a shrapnel wound in the shoulder area and another employee was struck in the side by shrapnel.
The employee who fought with Woody suffered a head injury during the altercation, police said. The specific nature of the injury was not immediately clear.
Injuries to the four employees were non-life-threatening. Three employees with gunshot wounds were taken to a local hospital, police said.
Two of the employees are 16 years old and the others are 18, Withrow said. He did not know which employees were wounded by the gunfire...

people carrying cell phones and looking at them while driving killed more people today than guns. Where is your outrage?

They need to go jail too.

Every time something really bad happens, people cry out for safety, and the government answers by taking rights away from good people." - Penn Jillette.

What's better, preventing "really bad things" or preserving the rights that cause them ?

Probably won't be visited many McDonald's for 15-20 years or what ever assault with a deadly weapon carries.

No, but it could have been murder.

How many people carry guns who are willing to draw then and fire due to being forced to have fast food "to go" ?

It doesn't fit the narrative. It's not a party issue. so those people that died from that sort of thing drinking and driving and all those things don't matter only the people that died from gunshot wounds better there the corpses you can stack up and stand on to screech about gun control.

Explain

Yeah you get the crackpots like the MacDonald idiot, but if guns were a problem like you wish over "COVID 19" then we would have a problem but we don't and won't so quite dreaming.

Two recent shootings over people being told to observe the restrictions and one dead

And you think guns are not a problem ?

How many instances would it take to constitute a"problem" in your mind ?

Yes very much so. Just because of a random stupid act on someones part, I don't start screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling."

Have you persuaded yourself it is just one random act ?

No, but it could have been murder.

How many people carry guns who are willing to draw then and fire due to being forced to have fast food "to go" ?
Only one documented case.

Bingo!

At the very least I hope you keep your guns locked up if you have children or young adults in your house. They are at risk if you do not. The data about suicides in the U.S. is quite clear. Having access to a gun triples your risk of dying by suicide. That is not a dramatization it is fact. Your personal experience is just that and has little value.

What is your personal experience? I personally have had a wide experience with firearms and so far I haven't managed to commit suicide or shoot anyone by accident. It would seem though your data mirrors other anti gun data. Outta the same play book so to say. If what you're saying is factual in any way hell we should be pushing 75-100 thousand suicides a year.

Where are your posts to stop people from carrying cell phones?

Did you catch where he said make it manslaughter not homicide?

Homicide is the killing of a person whether it's justified weather its manslaughter whether it's murder. It just means a human was killed.

You can't have manslaughter without the homicide because nobody was killed.

=Rich2018;1071844196]They need to go jail too.
They need to go to prison for a very long time.

Make manslaughter not homicide though.

Murder. When they got on that cell phone they knew the risk.

There's a deifference.

Why is there a difference? What's the difference between say 2000 lbs. of steel and a couple 100 grains of lead?
Or could it be IT'S A GUN!

Why is it that people who claim to be "liberal", always default to giving up rights to solve a problem? It's so ironic. And it's usually a right they don't exercise themselves, like, " I don't like guns, so you can't have one.

What's better, preventing "really bad things" or preserving the rights that cause them ?

Preserving rights - definitely.

Once a right is taken away - it's gone. So naturally gun owners go on defense when the progressives take away our gun rights.

California has the most draconian, unconstitutional gun restrictions in the nation. Progressives promise it will only get worse, and there's no reason not to believe them. These progressives are a real threat to our liberty and freedom.

Who says they didn't, I would have thought they did.

So according to you McDonald's employees need to be carrying now...has American society really degenerated that far. Do you also recommend bullet proof vests ?
Do all bars and counters required a transparent, bullet proof wall ?

There isn't hardly any ridiculous "prevention" gun owners won't suggest rather than surrender their guns...they rather see the world burn.

LOL
Talk about wanting the world to burn. The left wants a new world order.

What is a list of really bad things? Come on there must be others. Put on the ole thinking cap, pretend you're in Jolly Ole England and someone got shot. So the first thing is ban all those bad guns that didn't have anything to do with it. Next knives. Then I hear they freak over Zombie knives?

They seem like such delicate people over there. I remember British guy I was telling a story to and one of the things in the story was I have a machete in my truck. It was for work. And he thought I was a gangster.

Only one documented case.

They need to go to prison for a very long time.

Yes, but not as long as the people who kill other people deliberately

Manslaughter V Homicide

(of course a repeat offender with manslaughter should be treated more harshly)

Murder. When they got on that cell phone they knew the risk.

That's trouble, they don't
Like drunk drivers

Why is there a difference? What's the difference between say 2000 lbs. of steel and a couple 100 grains of lead?
Or could it be IT'S A GUN!

The difference is intent.

Deliberately ramming your car into someone in order to kill them is murder
Pointing a gun at a friend and pulling the trigger and killing them, when you thought the gun was unloaded in not murder, it's manslaughter

Look up the difference between the definitions.
