[W:549] Nfl 2018

Bitching about the call is pointless. Yeah it was terrible, but in the end there was a hundred plays in that game.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Game's over. So is the season, at least for New Orleans.

All of your posts here are always a class act, especially after your Saints just lost such a heartbreaker.

You have my total respect and admiration, as you only think of Drew Brees and what a gift he’s been to New Orleans outside of the NFL.

If the Patriots go up 21-0 this will be a blowout.

So far, Pat Mahomes does not look mentally ready to win this game.

This is not surprising. We saw Andy Reid's eagles choke 4 times in the NFC Championship at home.

You may want to check Mahomes pants. He may have peed in them.

I am very sad for Brees, but they had all the advantages and did not win the game. Maybe they need to invest in a great Tight End because I feel they are weak there.

Pick of the week in the endzone. Go Chiefs!

Games aren't decided by 1 play. Sorry. Wasn't the first ever questionable call, won't be the last.

I know, the Rams deserved the win, especially given what they did in OT. But yes, had the refs called that PI correctly, the clock would have left 4 seconds for the Rams. Try to get a full drive and a FG in 4 seconds! So, yes, that one bad call did heavily influence the result of the game.

They might have won, they would have also come away just as easily with the field goal they got at the end of that drive. They were not assured a touch down even if there had been a flag and a foul.

The issue is not a TD, the issue is running down the clock. They would have had the ability to leave only 4 seconds of clock time for the Rams.

He’ll get another chance next year, he’s still playing at insane level

I am not sure, this was the perfect set up to get to the superbowl, at home against a team which as a QB that is infinitely less than him. But for some reason they could not go on after going up 13-0. Who knows what next year will bring because unlike the Patriots they are not a dynasty. For them everything needs to go the right way and even with that happening, they still did not make the SB.

And he could also have thrown an interception. There is no do over, no real way to know what happens next.

Mahomes missed a TD from being nervous, overthrowing the ball. That's where lack of experience is playing a role, versus the cool and collected Tom Brady.

The game should be 24-0 Patriots. Chiefs are lucky only being down 7.

What interception? They just needed to take knees and leave the Rams with 4 seconds, still ahead by 3 or 6 points, depending on making the FG or not. Even if they missed the FG, it is not easy to do a full drive for a tying FG in 4 seconds... practically impossible.

The PI call would have sealed the game in favor of the Saints, no need to throw the ball (and they wouldn't. Why would they risk throwing the ball if they just had to take knees?)

This is where also they miss Kareem Hunt. Hunt in his last two games against the Patriots had 100+ receiving yards for an rb.

He was the leading rusher in the NFL. Big loss.

That was quick

True. They might be unstoppable if they still had Hunt.

I don't mean to knock you however the Saints blew the game.

After the Ted Ginn catch, the Saints threw it twice, stopping the clock. The prudent move would have been running the ball, forcing the Rams to use their timeouts.

1st & 10 at LAR 13
(1:58 - 4th) (Shotgun) D.Brees pass incomplete short left to M.Thomas.

2nd & 10 at LAR 13
(1:55 - 4th) A.Kamara right end to LA 13 for no gain (M.Barron).
(1:49 - 4th) Timeout #2 by LA at 01:49.

3rd & 10 at LAR 13
(1:48 - 4th) (Shotgun) D.Brees pass incomplete short right to T.Lewis.

4th & 10 at LAR 13
(1:41 - 4th) Wil Lutz 31 Yd Field Goal

They should have ran it 3 times in a row.

I’m worried now, i hope we haven’t missed our window.

LOL

Time of possession: Patriots 21 min, Chiefs 8 min
Total yards: Patriots 245, Chiefs 47

I am about 60% confident the Patriots will win. Patriots should be up by 21 or 28. I don't think a 14-point lead is enough.

Figures the Lions couldn't do anything with Van Noy after drafting him high and practically gave him away to the Pats.

Look, I'm not a Saints fan. I'm just saying, if they had that PI and automatic first down, they'd have been able to run the clock down by taking knees. I didn't do the calculation myself but the TV narrator said the end result would have been 4 seconds left for the Rams. Short of a miracle Hail Mary or uncanny return, how do you tie the game with a FG or win it with a TD with 4 seconds left? There isn't even sufficient time to spike the ball to set up for a FG.

I just said, Brees must have felt sad that this one ref mistake prevented him from going to the SB. Even with all the blunders the Saints committed, they'd still have won the game if the refs had called that PI. That's a fact, save a full-blown miracle. It's not easy to come from behind with just 4 seconds left. It's almost impossible, except for a lucky return or the longest and most successful Hail Mary. It has happened but it is hugely unlikely, so, yes, with the PI called, the Saints would have won.

But sure, in many other parts of the game, the Rams deserved the win. I said as much, and I was rooting for the Rams (like I'm rooting for the Chiefs although so far it seems hopeless - I just wanted to see two young QBs in the SB for the first time in their careers, rather than the same old same old).

People were considering the Pats underdogs, LOL. Never bet against the GOAT.

KC first half offensive stats are horrible. 10 yards rushing and 65 passing wtf?

Remember the last time the Chiefs played the Patriots the score at halftime was 24-9 Patriots.

Chiefs ended up scoring 31 points in the second half.

This game is not even close to being over. The game is much closer then the score indicates right now.

They had Hunt at the time.
Mahomes is nervous.
Brady is calm as usual.
Reid has lost at this level several times.
Belichick is unshakable.

That's why the Pats will win.

But I'm rooting for the Chiefs, if you are right and I'm wrong, then, good!

Hehe, me and my big mouth, I say so, and Mahomes completes two gorgeous passes, for a TD.

Is it just me , but I can't stand Tony Romo's voice.
