[W:549] Nfl 2018

Of course your dishonest BS is backed up by totally unrealistic expectations. Your naked demonization is pathetic.

I wasn't against him. I actually found him courageous and generally supported his stance, and disliked the NFL's stance.
But if he sues, settles for money, and quietly walks away with money, then my respect is gone.
If he indeed wasn't in this for money (isn't he independently rich, even before playing football?), then why wouldn't he earmark the WHOLE of the settlement money for his cause?
If he pockets all or part of it, then his motivation immediately becomes suspicious.

You can insult me and call me dishonest and pathetic and call what I'm saying BS all you want, but that's my opinion. By the way, I won't lose any sleep over your insults. Go straight ahead, call me some more choice names. You are only demonstrating your emotional lack of control and lack of ability to engage in a civil discussion. It looks bad on you, not on me. Have a nice day.

So what, that was last year. What happened to him this year?

Like last year, he made the Superbowl by getting preferential calls from the refs--remember the touchdown they took away from the Steelers?--and this year, the team that would have beaten him was ripped off by them in the NFC Championship game.

eric reid was right
when he re-upped with the panthers for $23MM over three years he said that just made his case against the NFL stronger
it demonstrated he had been passed over for reasons other than being less than NFL-worthy
the arbitrator refused to toss the case and the plaintiffs were then able to move toward discovery/depositions
my guess is they got lots of good information in that effort
and if they prevailed in a finding of collusion, the contract with the NFL Players Union would have been voided
things would have gotten REALLY expensive for the owners then
so good on kap and reid for (1) having the courage of their convictions to protest, and (2) for having the guts to litigate the league even as the NFL Players Union sold them out
hope they delight in spending this substantial chunk of change
don't be surprised when kap is on a team's roster for the 2019-2020 season

I hear you... I just think since the owners were 100% wrong it's unreasonable to expect Kap to walk away with nothing. Quite honestly I didn't care about Kap's kneeling one way or the other. And as a QB, I thought he was pretty bad, a backup QB at BEST.

But the fact is the owners all sat down at a meeting, and because they were afraid of Trump's tweets and his BS they colluded to keep Kap from making money at his livelihood.

So they have to pay.

Mr. Big Chest demands a trade and that his new team give him a new contract will all guaranteed money.

I can see another Steeler sitting out a year, because Mr. Big Chest has burned his bridges with the Steelers and sounds like he lost his mind and the rest of the NFL looks at him as being radioactive..

Suing is the remedy in this country when wronged. Unless, someone is a gun nut, that is.

Steelers owner agrees in principle that it is time to trade Anto io Brown.

Great news. Would love to see him in New England for a second round pick.

Based on your comments...would it be reasonable for NFL teams to pass on signing AB this year?

And how can any team argue with this logic and double and triple negatives..

Brown said into his phone camera while working on an elliptical. "Tell them I ain't doing no unguarantees. I ain't even gonna play myself no more for this NFL, you heard

He's a Pita, a cancer in the clubhouse and wants a NEW 100% guaranteed money contract. Why would any team chance signing him?
I agree...and that goes to the follow on. The exact same can and has been said about CK...only CK doesnt have near the talent AB has. So does the fact that no team should chance signing him based on him being a cancer in the clubhouse equate to collusion where AB is concerned?

Thats TRULY not a gotcha type question...to me it is the EXACT same thing...and I agree with you...at least where AB is concerned.

All the analysis of the Kaepernick settlement seems a little off to me. From my perspective, this just seems to be a multi-billion dollar corporation, owned by a majority of multi-billionaires in their own right, paying pocket change to a nuisance who will now be totally marginalized away from the NFL going forward. No owner, or management type, will ever have to answer another question related to not signing Kaepernick and the man will quickly lose his darling of the media status going forward. The league could have continued the case, probably keeping it in the news for another couple of years while it made its way to the Supreme Court, and likely would have been successful in its defense, but they would have lost the PR battle simply by having Kaepernick remain in the news.

As with most baseless lawsuits in America these days, the party being sued simply looks for the dollar number that will make it go away the quickest - most lawyers and their clients who file such suits can be bought off, usually with pennies on the dollar.

Buh-bye Colin - your five minutes of fame has now expired.

As for Antonio Brown, he was a great player for the Steelers until the past couple of years when he could see new challenges from more talented receivers coming up in the Steelers' system and he couldn't handle not being Big Ben's first option anymore. Steelers are likely to trade him to a team in the NFC - perhaps Seattle might be interested. Can't see him traded to a team in the AFC, simply because he's still a serviceable receiver when he keeps his ego in check. Not worried, however, about losing Brown haunting the Steelers going forward. There have been an abundance of talented receivers the Steelers have jettisoned over the years and none of them have come back to significantly haunt the Steelers in later games for getting rid of them. Brown will be no different.

Good luck to his new team - can't wait to read/hear about his new situation souring when his most important focus is his stats and fantasy points and not his new teams success/wins.

And as an aside, just like with Harrison, Brown will live to regret not keeping his ego in check and staying his entire career with the Steelers. Nothing better for a retired NFL player than being a lifelong Steeler- but that requires loyalty and putting yourself second to the team.

Ab wants to win a sb. That wont happen in Pittsburgh. Too much chaos in that clubhouse.

Maybe Brown is a partial reason why the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2009, the year before Brown became a Steeler and the Steelers haven't won a Super Bowl since. I'd wager that the Steelers next year will have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl than any team Brown gets traded to - his lose, Steelers' gain.

Rumor is AB liked tweet about him being traded to Green Bay. Lol... Lol... Lol.. Yeah him and Rodgers would get along great. AB thought Roethlisberger was tough on him? Wait until he gets a load of Rodgers..

Btw another rumor is Wilson wants out of Seattle.. Top place he wants to go is NY. His contract is up after next year. If true what do the Giants do? Wait a year for Wilson? Or draft a QB this year?

The thing is though the Steelers have no leadership.

A perfect example is when Alejandro Villanueva was the only player to come out for the anthem when the rest of his team waited in the tunnel. Do you think that would happen under the leadership of Tom Brady? Instead, Ben Roethlisberger (who admitted he was wrong) looked like an ingrate to the country.

Leadership is so important to a championship team. Roethlisberger is not a great leader. There is a void of leadership on that team.

Le’Veon Bell sits out to get more money and his pathetic teammates on the offensive line publically call him selfish. Imagine if your co-workers tell your boss you are being selfish for asking for a raise.

Tell me CanadaJohn all the people in the media or on the Steelers coming to Big Ben's defense on the AB situation.....

You actually have it completely backward. The league has a large purse and a lot of time to use those resources in court. The refused to apologize to Tom Brady or Ezekiel Elliott and fought them tooth and nail in court.

The reason why the league settled with Kaepernick is because they were afraid. The league only settles when they know they wont win.

Colin Cowherd cooked that one up. My guess is if that is true, then the Hawks may sign him and trade him to get value. He's gonna break the bank either way.

Sign and trades really don’t work in football since the cap hit they’d take from any bonus money would murder their salary cap.

Yeah but they will take the hit either way.
