Dems know that there are still many people who will not vote for a gay man to be president.

If a Dem wins, however, s/he will no doubt appoint Mayor Pete to an important post.

So, what 'technical skill' does Trump have? Whatever 'qualifications' daddy bought for him haven't served him in the real world. He has the business skills of a four year-old, and couldn't even make the casino he bought with daddy's money, profitable but declared bankruptcy. One of six, I believe? How about being the most popular US president in recent history, and who continues to be long after leaving office. Trump will be forgotten by a grateful world within minutes of leaving and retiring to his 'Gaddafi baroque' mansion.

Huh? Obama was a state senator for 7 years, and then a US senator for 3 years.

He was a community organiser for less than 3 years in the mid-1980s, straight out of college.

In 2013 Buttigieg proposed a "Smart Streets" urban development program to improve South Bend's downtown area, and in early 2015 (after traffic studies and public hearings) he secured a bond issue for the program[36] backed by tax increment financing.[54][55] "Smart Streets" was aimed at improving economic development and urban vibrancy as well as road safety.[56] The project involved the conversion of one-way streets in downtown to two-way streets, traffic calming measures, the widening of sidewalks, streetside beautification (including the planting of trees and installation of decorative brickwork), the addition of bike lanes,[55] and the introduction of roundabouts.[56] Elements of the project were finished in 2016,[36] and it was officially completed in 2017.[56] The project was credited with spurring private development in the city.
