>The Russian army has used a new drone called Chernika to strike the city of Kharkiv for the first time, reports the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov. Kharkiv has suffered 16 enemy attacks just in the past week. Most often, the enemy used Shahed drones. “But specialists from the State Emergency Service have also recorded for the first time a strike by a new type of drone called Chernika,” Terekhov said. This drone is similar in warhead power to the Molniya drone but has a different design.<
The Chernika-2 is a lightweight “flying wing” drone with a cruising speed of 75 km/h, an operational range of up to 80 kilometers, and a flight ceiling below 1.5 kilometers. It carries a 3.5-kilogram warhead and is equipped with a terminal guidance system, allowing it to strike targets even when control or GPS signals are jammed. The body color - black - suggests that it is principally intended for night operations.

>The country's largest military aviation contractor has plans to boost fighter jet production by 30% in five years, as its CEO said in the same month that he wants to lay off 1,500 management staff. "We plan to raise production effectiveness 30% by 2030," Vadim Badekha, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation, told state media in a Wednesday report. The United Aircraft Corporation, which has no relation to United Airlines, is the Russian defense prime that oversees Sukhoi and Mikoyan — the producers of warplanes such as the MiG-35 and the fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter. Badekha, who took over UAC in November, made his remarks a week after telling Russian media outlet RBC in an interview that his company was looking to "optimize the number of managerial personnel" in its ranks. "1,500 people, or more than a quarter of the managerial staff," Badekha said, adding that the layoffs were targeted at its Moscow office. UAC's financial condition is far more dire. Badekha said the cuts were part of a push to bring UAC out of the red, after a decade of the firm posting consecutive annual losses of billions of rubles. The company's net loss was 34.8 billion rubles in 2023, which shrank to 14.2 billion rubles in 2024.<

>During a broadcast on STVR, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár stated that resolving the full-scale invasion allegedly requires establishing communication with the Russian side and diplomatic solutions. He particularly emphasized that it is supposedly the West that should find a way to cooperate with the Russian side.
"And maybe even forgive everything that happened," he added. Andrii Sybiha, head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded. "Juraj, Russia's sense of impunity is the root cause of its crimes. It's naive to expect a criminal to stop if their crime is forgiven instead of punished. Russia will hit your other cheek as well," Sybiha wrote on X. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister adds that those who have not lost anyone in this full-scale war have no right to make such statements.<
