[W:#23,579]Ukraine War Thread

>European leaders must act decisively to avoid being viewed as “indifferent or apathetic” by Washington and Moscow in the high-stakes negotiations over the war in Ukraine, a retired American military officer warned in an interview with Kyiv Post on Sunday. The stark caution from Col. Richard Williams (Ret.) came as a group of seven European leaders, including the heads of state for France, the UK, Germany and others, delivered their own peace proposals to the United States. The move is a clear attempt to influence the agenda of the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, set for Aug. 15 in Alaska. Colonel Williams, in an interview with Kyiv Post, was particularly critical of the notion that a deal could be reached by redrawing borders, a possibility that Trump has floated. Such a deal, he said, would be nothing more than a “bloody Russian land grab to produce an unjust temporary ceasefire.” He accused the US president of pursuing a deal for the sole purpose of receiving “the Nobel Peace Prize for nothing.”<

Witkoff was simply a Trump emmisary. It certainly must be Donald Trump's idea to cede occupied Ukrainian terrirory to Putin. Trump didn't even bother to confer with Zelenskyy. It's one of those Trumpian "take it and like it" deals. I don't see Zelenskyy or the Ukrainian people giving up their territory to Putin. Putin is not yet done with Ukraine. He would certasinly use any cease-fire as an opportunity to re-arm his military and patch up his crippled economy. Trump is helping Putin by removing the US Russian sanctions.

All things considered, I believe Donald Trump is either a Russian "sleeper-agent", or Putin has significant sexual dirt on Donald Trump. Nothing else makes any sense.

>Statement by President Macron, PM Meloni, Chancellor Merz, PM Tusk, PM Starmer, President von der Leyen and President Stubb on President Trump’s planned meeting with Putin:<

Message in the article.

Europe had better be ready to step up. Zelenskyy has no choice but to tell Trump/Putin to **** off. The Ukraine Constitution forbids the transfer of any Ukrainian land. In poll after poll, the Ukrainian people say will fight on rather than surrender any part of their country to Putin. Trump was aware of all of this. Yet he is ready to extort Ukraine (again) to aid a wanted war criminal.

>The war Russia started against Ukraine can only end by consistent pressure being applied on Vladimir Putin, the leaders of eight Nordic and Baltic countries have said in a message to Donald Trump. The statement by the Nordic-Baltic Eight whose members are allies of Kyiv, welcomed the U.S. President's moves to end the war ahead of his summit with Putin in Alaska Friday and said they would continue to impose restrictive measures against Russia while continuing to support Ukraine. "Peace will only come through a combination of determined diplomacy, unwavering support for Ukraine, and consistent pressure on the Russian Federation," said the statement by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden.<

>Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, urged the United States during a Sunday appearance on NBC News' Meet the Press to target nations who buy Russian oil, even those with whom the U.S. has strong ties, such as India. "The one thing I can tell you: Putin could give a damn about sanctions," Graham told host Kristen Welker. "He evades them. He could give a damn about how many Russians die." "The one thing that he can't tolerate and live with, if we go after his customers," Graham said. "The whole goal is to crush his customers, India, and China, and Brazil."<

Well Senator Graham, you had best have a round of golf with your buddy Trump and fight for Ukraine before Capitulation Friday.

>Ukraine sees no change in the Russian position. Moscow is pushing the idea of exchanging Ukrainian territories without any guarantees, according to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "The Russians still refuse to stop the killings, still invest in the war, and still push the idea of “exchanging” Ukrainian territory for Ukrainian territory, with consequences that guarantee nothing except more favorable positions for Russia to resume the war," he said.<

That's exactly what Putin is pressing for.... everything for me and nothing for you boo.

That hides the snake"
