Transgendered people lack basic rights in the US. They can be fired for being trans..
That doesn't make it legal.
"Federal courts have shown consistent support for the inclusion of transgender people under existing employment law for decades,” said Gillian Branstette, a spokesperson for the NCTE. That means: Even if you lose your job in a state without protections, you can sue based on federal law. "

, thrown out of an apartment
Why would a landlord rent to a trans person, only to end up evicting them? Perhaps they are being evicted for violating the rules that renters must abide by, not for being trans.
and refused to use the restroom of their identity
I don't believe that biological males belong in women's public bathrooms, and we've already seen cases of perverts using women's restrooms to engage in abnormal behavior.
. The GOP is trying to allow medical people and merchants tor refuse them service for being trans.
That's a very abbreviated version of what the guidelines say, and it's not about discriminating against people who are trans, but allowing doctors to decide whether or not they want to give hormones to someone. Many people object to the practice, and look what the NHS is doing- medical experimentation and coercion of children, which may cause further damage. We don't want that here.
Many of them basic necessarey medical care because of these situations. Almost 40% of homeless youths are LGBT.
Now you're lumping lesbians, gays, and bi people in with trans, who represent the smallest portion of the LGBT community. Most homeless people aren't LGBT, so let's not ignore them. California has nearly 1/2 homeless people in the entire country, so let's not pretend that Republicans are to blame here. The liberals and progressives in this state talk a great game about caring for homeless people, but don't care enough to do anything for them. Most volunteers who work with the homeless are Christians, guided by their faith.
Many are abused in their homes and schools and are afraid to speak up because they fear it will only get worse when they are more public.
Is this your idea of a safe and healthy place to live?
No one should suffer abuse, however the USA is not like places in the Middle East where LGBT are chucked off rooftops. We have a system in place to deal with physical abuse. Most assaults are treated as misdemeanors and many felony assaults are reduced. That is a problem with the criminal justice system.
Maybe this has something to do with the fact that 1 in 5 transgender individuals work in the sex trade during their lives. It's a dangerous business, surrounded by drug addiction and mental illness. One trans woman said she was repeatedly raped and molested as a boy in her native country, before coming to America to work as a trans prostitute. He said that had he not been raped as a boy, he felt he wouldn't have drifted into the trans lifestyle and prostitution. Protecting children is the real issue here, and we're just not that committed to doing so. That's the real tragedy.
Decriminalizing prostitution is central to transgender rights.
