You know, I am beginning to think that Turley was right after all. These Hearings SHOULD go on and on and on through the bulk of 2020....as long as it takes to get the additional key witnesses before the Committee. I think we need lots more days in hearing and in the Impeachment process JUST LIKE TODAY!

That said, I do realize that Trump will not stop himself from continuing to corrupt the process of our own elections. It is really more a toss up if Impeaching him as soon as possible curtails Trump more than just letting this process drag out through the year. However it should be understood that Trump will continue to try to corrupt the process however and whenever he can.

I would also suggest that the Minority should use Caster as much as they can. He is the gift that keeps on giving.

Was at the hospital, visiting with a friend of my mother today, so I missed the majority of the hearing.

Did hear there were lots of fireworks.

Is there anywhere I can go to see this? Catch up on what I missed?

Much like a NASCAR race, I only really want to see the crashes.

Hold your breath for 2020. Maybe Trump will try to win that one fairly. But as you can see from my previous post, I would not bet on it! Win fairly and Donald Trump's name should never appear in the same sentence. Heck they don't exist in the same universe.

I know they are stupid. I know they are rude. I know that they have no actual defense for Trump's actions. So, I guess being douche bags is all they have left.

The real problem IMO is that Trump has left them with no tools to use to defend. Under orders from DonDon they MUST defend based on the "everything was perfect and I did nothing wrong defense" as stupid as that seems. But in truth there is a method to Trumpkin's madness. The everything was perfect defense is Trump's only path to continuing to corrupt the process of our elections with relative impunity. If this scandal was all "perfect" than he can go on to the next scandalous scheme and push the envelop even farther. That IMO is what Trumpkin is really after.

The next step is the courts.

Keep in mind that Doug McGhan was one of the first to be instructed to disregard a lawful Congressional subpoena. And that case just got decided in the District Court. It still has to go to the Curcuit Court and then possibly to the Supreme Court. The clock will probably run out on this case before the election.

Ditto the subpoenas the Intelligence Committee has issued, and which Trump has blocked.

But, there is every other reason to take one’s time.

The case isn’t going to get better for Trump. And the sort of characters Trump has surrounded himself in this latest escapade make it almost inevitable that one of them will dime the whole thing out.

Let the GOP stew in its juices.

The Democratic field is shaking out, and we should have a candidate before much longer. And the focus is going to be on getting rid of Trump.

Trump will either do something else equally reckless and faithless.

Of course, he could find himself on the receiving end of an international crisis, something he is totally unequipped to deal with.

The parties aren't bodies of government, so their internal policies and election results aren't bound in law in the same way as actual government elections.

They run them using the same mechanisms as a practical matter, and because they encourage the misunderstanding.

True but Sondland had claimed he didn't have access to anything. But when he showed up for public hearings he had his emails! So my immediate question and one that was not asked or answered is "How much more did Sondland have?"

Caster says Sondland always had access to his documents which really makes me wonder what Sondland has, does not have and what he had and has access to for this whole process. There is a dif between State Dept docs and WH docs. They are not held in the same places and don't fall under the same protocols.

As I said even after Sondland's public testimony, IMO they should not be done with Sondland. That smug SOB needs to be hauled before committee again as IMO he has more clean up to do.

He has a lot more cleanup to do.

They needed a front man they could sent to the committee to plant some themes. Sondland is not an experienced political operative, so it wasn’t too long before he talked himself into a corner (twice).

Yes, he will have to have his memory refershed.

The handicap that the Trump team had in this affair is that none of the other operatives (other than Perry) had any political experience either.

Guliani does, but he’s as flaky and irresonsible as his pro bono boss.

And since he had blown the lid off the whole thing to begin with, they weren’t about to send Rudy!

It's been a common occurrence to watch Trump supporters twist words to what they want to hear rather than responding to what was said.

Changing election results was not a necessary result of Russian interference. Influencing low-info voters was their real success.
