Playing dumb now, are you? You know full well that the story isn't about "some people JUST watching the border". This country has every right to know who is coming across our borders, but by the same token, we also have every right to know who is "volunteering" to help the professionals, if they're going to attempt to "act under color of authority".

The same common sense that says it's dangerous to let a convicted registered sex offender open a daycare center says it's dangerous to let nameless felons and and other unqualified/disqualified persons patrol our border on federally and state owned land.
These people can do as they see fit on private property, with the permission of the property owners, but if they're on federal or state owned land, we the people have the right to know who they are and what their business is.
And ultimately, the government gets the say-so, not these militia morons.

You sound like someone who supports stop and frisk policies. FTR, I have no problem with the police running checks on these people. I never said any such thing.

A militia member/militia is no more representative of ALL such members/militias than a man who beats his dog is representative of ALL dog owners.
