Show me in New Mexico's laws where it says a citizen arrest can only be performed by a non-felon or that the citizen doing the arresting must be armed.

If you can't, well...your comment irrelevant in regards to a citizen arrest.

Now, for sure, the guy is in trouble for possessing firearms and I'm not defending him in any way for firearms violations. But there is no indication this has anything to do with the citizen arrest of illegal aliens in New Mexico.

New Mexico has no codified law regarding citizens arrest. As such common law prevails and you are allowed to make such an arrest for any misdemeanor or felony crime.

Arrest by a citizen felon who's violating even more laws, specifically, firearms laws.

Your colonel-general Hopkins or whatever he calls himself is in quite the fix. He's head of a volunteer militia but he can't by law possess or own firearms. The reason he can't is that he's a convicted felon. So as leader of the law abiding militia that defends the laws and the Constitution the convicted felon Hopkins can't possess a firearm unless he breaks the law. Again. A felony violation...again. That's what he did -- again -- and its why he got busted by FBI.

You could get Hopkins off the hook though by amending the Second Amendment to allow convicted felons in a militia to own firearms. Especially if its so the convicted felon just arrested again for firearms violations wants to protect and enforce the laws and the Constitution. Trouble is that dog don't hunt either.

What has this nation come to when felons want to uphold American sovereignty, vote and be elected to public office? And what has this nation come to when law enforcement top officials refuse to prosecute guilty felons for violating the law and violently persecute and prosecute innocent citizens on partisan suspicion of breaking laws they did not beak?

I ask because our laws on asylum are specific. Are they seeking asylum or not? If they are, what are they seeking asylum from? Rapists and murderers in their homeland is not a valid reason for asylum. Neither is poverty.
