Talk about closed minded people. Is that what they teach there? Or are they just AFRAID they might hear the truth?

Good for them, there is no requirement to listen to someone they disagree with and want to remove from office next year.

Why do you assume the students are closed minded? How do you know that they simply didn’t agree with what they were hearing and decided they had better things to do with their time?

This is a great example of the radical left wing professors brain washing students. Be closed minded little sheep, and dont dare to listen to other ideas.

I thot universities were supposed to be the last bastion of open mindedness. The radical left has seemed to have destroyed that idea.

The word is 'tolerant'. Maybe you should speak to throwback pro-life 'christians' about tolerance. Then talk to the far-right about how tolerant they are of Jews, Homosexuals, Blacks, Muslims and anyone they perceive as 'different'. I'm sure they enjoy some girl/girl lesbian action though, ****ing hypocrites.

A survey just came out. Approximately 60 percent of men in management are reluctant to mentor a woman in the me too encoroment.

Seems pence is in the mainstream there.
 
Listening to views that are in good faith is one thing. When the parties are interested in the truth.

There's a point at which there is no good faith, when there are simply propagandists lying. And there's an issue of opposing wrong.

If a North Korean spokesperson gave a speech with clearly false propaganda that their regime had no oppression, no concentration camps, etc. and promoted selling them weapons they'd use for harm; if a Saudi Arabian spokesperson gave a speech lying that the leader had nothing to do with the murder of a US resident and promoting supporting the Saudi war on Yemen; do people have to 'listen respectfully' to those speeches?

Or can they justify opposing those representatives? Does every speaker, no matter how clearly they are lying, no matter how much harm they're supporting, deserve everyone to treat them with respect and deserving to be heard?

Pence can be heard by those who want to hear him. He has the ability to speak and put out messages and have them available and publicized. It doesn't mean that people who want to support the truth can't oppose his using their school for a platform for lying. It's a question where people think these lines should be drawn, but Pence has shown himself a shameless liar and willing propagandist for harmful policies.

Yet, he gave THIS speech, didn't he? These are questions, on how to balance support for 'free speech' while opposing wrong and lies. The right can argue either side, but it's wrong to claim that 'intolerance' is from Pence's critics more than Pence, showing partisan blindness.

A very wise man said long ago, one of the greatest reasons for free speech is that you may not have the truth. You listen to other ideas to find the truth. Just because you disagree with pence doesn't mean he is wrong and you are the holder of the truth.

Not matter how much you really really want to believe.

That's a good lesson for ignorant people who need to hear different views to see what different views are.

It doesn't apply indefinitely, as if you have no idea there's such a thing as a lie day after day. Yet the trump cultists are especially in need of help to break through the bubble made for them.

How different do you think the speech was from the one he gave at Liberty not too long ago? If it was the least bit similar, its pretty fair to claim they would know what was coming down the pike.

Oh, and you may want to watch who you are calling brainwashed sheep.....Taylor is a Christian Liberal Arts college.....not likely to be a ton of liberals running around campus. But you are probably right about the brainwashed part.
