Volvo Pulls its Ads from Hannity after Moore Civerage

I guess you were not aware I served as Public Defender?

Huge difference counselor.

You, as a member of the bar, are sworn to provide the best defense possible. Period. I am told you can lose your license for failing to do so.

A journalist on the other hand has one duty and that is to accuracy. If, however, it is an op ed piece, the journalist must present some form of credibility to his or her claims and you DO NOT take sides in an open and on-going story. If a journalist wants a critique of a court case he must wait till its over. However The Excited States passed that barrier two decades ago and hit the ****ter when Faux made the scene.

I think what the poster wanted to say is that an outfit like Volvo which is something of a symbol for the classic middle class family and its justified in not wanting an association between their product and public defense of an accused sexual predator.

What do you think? In court the statute of limitations would probably save him.In the court of public opinion he's lost the battle.

What gets me is all these people who are defending someone who has a likign for teenage girls, at least one who was under aged, is being defended vigorously by the same people hwo got upset about transgender people using a bathroom.

Demanding justice and fairness is what I am doing, I am not defending Moore....Know the difference.

What a blast from the past this idea is......

If we asked all who consider themselves to be journalist under the age of 30 could we get 10% to agree with this statement do you think?

I have no idea what people knew or did not know, but I still like the fact that you believe in the truth of the Bible.

I am not a Democrat so I cannot vote in Alabama since I am not a resident of the state nor am I dead.

The point is "if" you were in Alabama would you still be voting for Roy Moore, after all of this?

Of course they would, it’s common to marry your 13-year-old cousin in Alabama.

Would you want to be associated with a man who defended a possible pedophile, no. Regardless of innocence no company wants to be associated with an accused pedophile or someone trying to defend them. Whether that person is guilty or not, it still affects their reputation.

I see it as necessary to make several points here:
1. A possible pedophile (using it in this case to describe someone who is accused of sexually molesting a child) is not by any means necessarily a pedophile, and I'm leery of convicting people in the court of public opinion without evidence or any kind of formal trial.
2. A person can be a pedophile but never do anything wrong - 'pedophile' is the state of being sexually attracted to children, but is often misused to describe those who act on that desire.
3. The above two points being the case, it is nevertheless common and expected (fortunately or unfortunately) that people accused of extremely unacceptable things such as sexual misconduct and especially sexual misconduct with a child, are convicted and punished by their workplaces and/or friends/family disassociating from them - before any trial can take place.

I'm torn a bit, here - on the one hand, the very possibility of someone being a sexual predator, let alone a sexual predator targeting children, is enough to disqualify them from most jobs - but if the are innocent, and thus not convicted by the justice system, they still probably can't go back to that job easily.

Especially if it's working with children.

I suppose I'm saying - it seems unjust to punish people simply for being accused of something, no matter how heinous.
Yet, especially in jobs that involve children, we basically have no choice but to punish them - at least in terms of job suspension and likely end, since even if they're innocent, enough people won't believe it that their employer can't keep them around.

The court of public opinion (votes) will speak. So will the US Senate if necessary.

One of the most heinous acts is for anyone to abuse power/authority to victimize children, and threaten retaliation from on-high if they cry out.

Not at all, I'm laughing at the fact the Hannity sheep destroyed their Keurigs and now less than a couple of days the boycott ended and they are left.....empty handed :lamo Hannity sheep are such ****ing morons. :lamo

I don't think they miss them. I think they're happy the protest worked. Seems like it's the Independents and liberals who can't get any sleep over it, and that tickles me to no end.

Accurate.

I'm wondering about people accused of such things but innocent of them, at the end there.

Very true--there is no worse predator than a 32 year old man that stalks a young girl, tries to initiate personal private contact, and then deliberately manipulates them away from their parents. These young girls are very naive, trusting, and easily manipulated by someone they deem as an offical in safe hands.

Roy Moore has abused his status and his power--and he cannot be seated in the senate. He is every parent's worst nightmare, he is the DEVIL.

Most companies include a morals clause. Pepsi dumped Jackson real fast once the first allegation was made.
