After the Civil War he was appointed by President Grant to serve as ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. Later he served under two US presidents as U.S. commissioner of Railroads. There is a statue of him on the Gettysburg memorial battlefield. There is a museum in his honor in Gainesville, GA. Nobody for 100 years had claimed he was a traitor, but that was before Obama and the changes he brought about in the democrat party.

Now every republican is a devil and every court decision leftists democrats do not like is rejected as corrupt. If Americans do not like their plans, their values, their goals, and their opinions then they erupt in violence and try to burn then place to the ground.

Should we sweep nthrough the Gettysburg memorial battleground and topple every statue of a souther general? How would that look to kids in the future?
