I don't know of anyone who is calling for peaceful protesters to be locked up. I stand with them. They have every right to be heard and march for their cause. I hope there words are heard and my heart goes out to Mr. Floyd's family and I hope the 4 cops involved are held accountable.

The criminals that include anarchist that will knowingly refuse to disperse during curfew just pushing for a fight to try and show how they are being attacked. The tear down barriers in front of the White House, throw rocks and frozen water bottles, and when the Park Police respond the media tries to get involved by escalating the narrative that Trump had them attacked for a photo op.

Due to these Left Liberal Mayors and Governors refusing to call in the National Guard, refusing to hold these criminals in jail, just tonight we had one NY officer stabbed in the neck with a knife and two more officers shot responding to the scene.

I am fed up with this BS and the media playing on people's emotions with fake claims just to heighten tensions. I have never seen anything like it in my 60 years.

Its been out. Bidens campaign officials and leftist celebrities are donating money bailing out criminals so they can get back in the mix. I even received a fund raiser from GoFundMe asking for money to bail them out. They had already raised over 700K when I got the email request.

Peaceful protest, does not usually end with you being arrested, or requiring bail to be taken out on you.

I grew up in Newport News, VA. I know Hampton, Williamsburg, Norfolk, Yorktown, Jamestown, Richmond, and Appomattox like the back of my hand.

There is so much history there. The founding of the colonies, first contacts with Native Americans, revolutionary war, civil war.

It's who we are as a nation. We're the descendants of all these people; the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have warts. get over it.

I don't think you understand. The Confederates were an enemy and traitor to the United States. They killed Americans. George Washington was an American hero and fought to create America and keep it in existence.

I was hoping that sense would prevail, and that the intersections further out the avenue would be redeveloped as circles with more monuments. This time to the likes of King, Douglass, and Thurgood Marshall would join Arthur Ashe.

My statement centers on the fact that this could empower others to have their actions taken into account when wanting to remove other statues.

"Just because I want it gone" does not sound like a good reason for such to happen.

The placement of Jim Crow era Confederate statues/monuments have been the subject of heated debates among many Americans for decades. Not so for Lincoln or King statues/memorials.
