Yeah, we know. Its the new excuse. A month ago it was because they were slave owners. Since these same uneducated entitled brats found out that both north and south had slaves, the narrative has changed to treason.

If these same entitled brats knew anything about this countries history they would have known that the south legally seceded according to the constitution, legally voted as required once Lincoln was voted as president. All states at that time were legally independent and had a right to secede.

Not only that but Congress has ordered that all Confederate officers and soldiers were American and we have paid them their retirements throughout the years.

Sorry, your inability to distinguish between slaveholders and those who committed treason and fought and killed American soldiers to maintain slavery is on no one else but yourself.

This actually isnt a debate website. I'm pretty sure there is a debate section that follows those more formal rules. Forums are for discussion and sharing of perspective, facts, arguments. If you make it a debate, I dont really want to participate because debates are ineffective and pointless and dont actually arrive at truth. Discussions are vehicles for finding truth. The winner is the group that better understands the topic. Sharing conflicting points of view doesnt need to be a debate with a single winner.

Edit - I forgot which forum I was on and this forum is actually called debate politics. That's funny. Still, having a debate mindset is the wrong idea.

What would you call soldiers who take up arms against their own country? That is the definition of treason. I could care less what Congress passed it changes nothing.

And just to help that limited resource you use to post here, they didn't take up arms against their own country. They seceded from the US, voted their own president into office, and had their own independent states.

But you can't learn that because it hurts your feelings too much.

Symbols are proxies for issues. Removing a statue is a virtue-signaling act that does nothing to prevent racism.

In fact, it's counter-productive since people who are not racist will push back against the rewriting of history.
