Vindman Under 24-Hour Protection

Think about what's written below for a minute.

Stunning. No?

Yeah, Trump attacks everyone who disagrees with them, calls them "treason" etc, no wonder they need protection.

Trump is the most reckless and irresponsible president in history. And repubs don't care and they wonder why Schiff won't reveal who the whistleblower is.

What repubs cannot grasp is that if Schiff did reveal who he was, and he is verbally attacked by repubs, and is threatened by Trump's fanboy crazies, he could get hurt, and then there would never ever be any more whistleblowers, or there would be few, and future wrongdoings by powerful people and presidents who commit crimes can more easily get away with it.

I don't understand why repubs cannot understand something so simple, something so vital to our democracy, than protecting a whistleblower.

Perhaps the better terms would be witness tampering and intimidation. Both are felonies in a court of law while in the context of the House inquiry it amounts to another article of impeachment.

No, the term is "responding-to-false-accusations". :)

The repubs understand the concept when it applies to helping them and their whistleblowers. But right now they are just throwing spaghetti on a wall hoping something will stick.

They got nothing but bull**** deflection and trying to discredit very stable and honest witnesses. It's pathetic, really.

Is that the word de jour for liars? Looking forward to Sondland's testimony tomorrow. Are there any boutique prisons he can request?

sane americans will need to be protected from some Trump supporters for years.

Waiting for the "it's not a threat" crowd to chime in.

Nah, we don't want to get in the way of your mass circlejerk/ mass hysteria.

Stunning. No?

Not really. I heard from a well placed but anonymous source that Trump has ordered a mob hit on Vindman, the whistleblower and Adam Schiff. Schiff, being the hard mother****er that he is, doesn't need protection but he has vowed to put his position, his power and, if necessary, his very body between Trump's bullets and the fine people that are standing up to this assault on American values!

So stating someone is politically opposed now creates a danger worthy of 24 hour protection?

There has to be more to this. I don’t get what the reaction is over or how anyone can claim that statement endangers anyone.

Insanity.

Yeah. People that oppose the Democrats are all homicidal maniacs filled with a bloodlust to destroy the nation and serve their Dark Lord Trump.

There is a subset of Trump supporters (not all by any means) who will defend Trump from any percieved threat.

Vindman, of course, represents a threst to what they see as their power.

Wow! I just saw the exchange between Vindman and Nunes where Vindman came out with the "That's LtC, sir" bit. What a douchebag that guy is! He reminds me of a guy we promoted into a desk job just to get him out of our way on the line. That guy, like Vindman appears to be, was WAY more worried about appearances and sucking ass than he was about getting the job done. He was a rat, a whiner and utterly incapable of carrying out the simplest of tasks. Watching Vindman was a total flashback to that guy.

[…] then there would never ever be any more whistleblowers […]

That folds in nicely with making the press the enemy of the state; fostering distrust with intel community; thumbing his nose at Congress and by extension the constitution; and the establishing the deep state boogieman.

How long before these guys are chanting for Trump to make all the decisions, unfettered by back seat drivers?

I guess using the same guys who are "protecting" the WB would not have had the same impact as mobilizing the US Army for protection from an imaginary wrath by the US president. (grin)

Vindman himself had contacted the Army a few weeks ago about "protection" for himself and his family, most likely on advise of pencilneck Schiff who has a flair for drama.
After all, like he said, some people on twitter didn't like him very much.

Security monitoring is not the same as protection. If the situation were really as dire as the MSM and Vindman/Schiff would like you to believe, his family would have been weeks ago in a military compound.

A new word for thespian: Vindman

Perhaps you missed that one of the Trump nuts tried to kill Congresswoman Omar? Keeping your head in the sand is not a good look.

He is entitled to be recognized properly, just as we do not call POTUS Mr. Trump, and even Nunes is called Congressman. Nunes was being a dick, and you defend him for some reason.

Surpassing Putin's wildest dreams.

It is insane for a sitting U.S. president to attack citizens directly, because they testify against him. It's ****ing insane.
It's impeachable, really, and Trump should be impeached for it. But he's got a long list, and they have to narrow it if they intend to finish within a few months.
And yes, it puts people at risk.

Republicans Senators, know it's deplorable, but they have to risk their legacy/job/reputation/career, by voting for what is right, rather than supporting Trump. That's pretty insane too, if you think about it. Do we have jury's that are designed to be stacked in favor of one (republican majority), and who are 100% biased to vote a certain way based on real damage to their jobs/career if they do?

What a joke.

Poor snowflake. Vindman and his testimony is not free from criticism. He’s not a victim. He’s not being attacked. And there is no real threat.

This is just more fabricated drama by Democrats to make a new issue since everyone previous one has fallen apart.

Trumps criticism represents a threat to what they see as their power.

Well, like my wife said earlier, I guess we can throw the idea that the Republicans respect the military in the same trash heap family values landed.

Along with personal responsibility. Turns out they support blaming everyone else.

He's entitled to be addressed by rank when dealing with other military members but not by civilians. Addressing him as Mr. is perfectly respectful and calling Nunes out for not using his rank is totally, completely, inexcusably douchy.

Wow, you know more than the top administration of the United States Army. You must have awfully high security clearance. And yet here you are blabbing away classified information on a public internet forum.

You realize you're making the USA an even bigger international laughing stock than it already is, right? And your country is already number one with a bullet.

Your POTUS has made it patently clear that "inexcusably douchy" behavior is what America stands for these days. So he's just exemplifying American values and morals. One more reason you're the biggest laughing stocks in the world.

What are you talking about? Trumps tweets are public.

I’ve traveled the world. You can’t shame me as an American. I’ve seen why everyone envies us.
