Vandalizing churches during protests

When I was in Germany I toured the Cathedral in Cologne (or Koln, if you prefer). It is an enormous building - I was trying to get a picture of it from outside with a normal lens and I couldn't get far enough away to get the whole building in the shot. The tour guides told us that while the rest of the city was pretty much flattened by the bombing during WWII the Cathedral was relatively unscathed, the only building still standing in Cologne. Some said it was God's protection, others say that the allied pilots were doing their best to miss the Cathedral.

The guys who vandalized the Churches were not officers and gentlemen...

I'm not sure I can agree. If not caring means being unconcerned or apathetic, seems like they'd skip the churches. A real effort was made to light up St. John's Church.

True. I suppose it says that they are royally pissed off at the world and don't give a **** about anyone else.

I agree. Trashing a drugstore and throwing out onto the street all the drugs that can't be resold for recreational purposes says that to me. Think of all the folks who won't be able to fill their 'scrips.
