The problem is that the warning from scientists was ignored for so long time. While at the same you still have many developing countries that is going through rapid industrialization.
While at the same time there are positive signs. That for example UK that have reduce the overall C02 emission with 43 percent and in the power sector with 65 percent since 1990.

The rapid advancement in for example renewables and energy effiecienc have also already have had global impact for example that global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions were flat between 2014-2016.

Renewables are also starting to outcompete fossil fuels in developing countries, like for example in India.

That transition away from fossil fuel will happen but it can come too late to avoid many of the devastating effects of global warming. That the warnings from climate scientist can’t no longer be ignored and decisive action needs to be taken.
