Ukrainian lawmaker releases leaked phone calls of Biden and Poroshenko

Ukraine should release the phone call between Zelensky and Trump.

The recordings played at the news conference Tuesday shed relatively little new light on Biden’s actions in Ukraine, which were at the center of President Trump’s impeachment last year. They show that Biden, as he has previously said publicly, linked loan guarantees for Ukraine to the ouster of the country’s prosecutor general in 2015. . . . Trump’s allies, including Giuliani, have argued that Ukraine intervened in that election on Clinton’s behalf, in part by targeting Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort. The country’s anti-corruption bureau released entries from a black ledger that allegedly showed $12 million in cash payments from its Russia-leaning political party to Manafort during the years in which he worked as a political consultant in Ukraine. Manafort said the document was falsified, but the revelations prompted him to resign from the Trump campaign in the summer of 2016.
.
.
The tapes released in Kyiv offered no evidence to back Giuliani’s long-standing accusation that Biden pushed for the prosecutor general’s ouster to help his son. At the time, Hunter Biden was earning between $50,000 and $100,000 a month on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, whose owner, a former government minister, was under investigation in Ukraine. Still, the tapes gave Trump’s allies a chance to recycle that allegation closer to the 2020 election. . . .The clips released in Kyiv consisted of conversations that Biden had as vice president with Poroshenko, primarily about domestic Ukrainian political issues. At the time, Biden was the face of U.S. policy toward Ukraine, demanding as a matter of policy that the government make reforms to end corruption if it wanted to continue to receive billions of dollars in Western aid and loan guarantees.. . . At no point in the clips released Tuesday does Biden mention Burisma or his son.

Sounds exactly like the kind of CT smear swill PoS would swallow and regurgitate in order to try to annoy liberals ("own the libturds" in Trumpist speak): a toady making an "array of accusations" based on nothing damning or even suspicious isn't news. But then, dishonesty is part of the ugliness, which is the point for Trumpists. Every single one of their hoaxes relies on Trumpists to treat accusations by other Trumpists as proof of guilt. They count on Trumpists to assume nefariousness where none exists.

Isn't it strange how nobody who is supposedly guilty is sin ever gets indicted by Trump's DOJ if his targets are so obviously guilty?

Isn't it strange that the administration whose people got indicted to the moon and back, swallowed by convictions, are the ones who *just know* it's actually everyone else who is guilty?

That said, I can see why Trumpists - including people who deny being Trumpists despite always defending Trump and always attacking the left with trollish BS, like PoS - would think demanding an end to corruption before loans are granted is an evil thing to do. If Trump hadn't been able to get money from the Russians due to a Russian concern about corruption, their boy would have been flat broke long ago.

At any rate, if by "Bidengate", PoS means self-referential Trumpist lies backed up by nothing in reality, then sure...it's begun. It began the moment Trump got caught trying to extort fabrication of dirt on Biden from Ukraine. It's what he always does: gets caught, immediately accuses a target on a different "side" of doing what he just got caught doing.

He knows the ugliness is the point for his supporters. He knows they'll say whatever he tells them to.

And that's why it doesn't matter that there is absolutely nothing here.
And of course you want us all to accept the opinion of the WaPo as unbias and objective.

And of course the Trumpist lies as stupidly as possible to deflect from the fact that the OP's source exonerated Biden, not damned him.

(Nevermind that all media is biased. WaPo is a hell of a lot less biased than the bull**** you site: Fox, National Review, Red State, Gateway Pundit. You cite downright CT stuff, and you're going to dishonestly whine about bias?)

Run along, Trumpist, before you get your other foot stuck your mouth.

PS: WaPo is PoS's source. :lamo

PSS: This is why it probably isn't worth even reading Trumpists' posts. The ugliness is the point, and they'll tell any moronic lie if they think it might annoy a liberal ("pwning the libturds").

I think after 3 years of the Trump/Russia collusion nonsense, the Carter Page/FISA abuse, and FBI setting up Michael Flynn, I expect the left to fully support any pending investigations, just like they did with Mueller.

.
You forgot to mention pizzagate and the water is turning the frogs gay.

The Biden distraction or any named "Bidengate" would just be more Trump delusional illusion to draw attention away from the ills of all kind with which Trump has plagued America .

That is true, but it does not mean that Biden is an innocent man or a worthy candidate for POTUS.

To use a democrat party talking point, if there’s nothing to hide, why all the fuss? What are they afraid of? And did you notice when the democrat party wants an investigation, it’s a “ national security issue”, and when the Republicans want an investigation, it’s a distraction. Lol

so, then it was justified to impeach Trump per what you just posted.

The House impeachment was fine... but when it turned up absolutely nothing, and the democrats still sent it to the senate, that was just ridiculous..... Although I wasn't certain it was justified, I did support the Mueller investigation.

So, should we put you down as a "Yes" that you'd support a senate investigation?

May I! May I! This is called hypocrisy!
It is indeed. When Trump does something, they want impeachment, when Biden does the same thing, they say its nothing.

And your attempt at justifying an eye for an eye snipe fest by oversimplifying things is an insult to the noble art of political debate

I make no bones about being partisan—my sig is proof of that— but as an aspiring teacher and historian I take extra pride in making sure that I can analyze and critique sources for accuracy.

according to you it turned up something...especially since you are holding Biden to a different standard.

It is indeed. When Trump does something, they want impeachment, when Biden does the same thing, they say its nothing.

you are comparing apples to oranges....Trump was using his power for PERSONAL gain...Biden wasn't.

Ukraine should release the phone call between Zelensky and Trump.

They did better, Zelensky said there was no quid pro quo, or haven't you been paying attention?

So the impeachment of Trump was appropriate then in your view. Obviously it had to be. Unless this thread is to say Biden did nothing wrong?

It depends on what the quid pro quo is all about.
It's not uncommon to have conditions attached to aid being given by governments. Trump's was in lined with his agenda against corruption.
