I’ve said any number of times that newly divulged years-later sexual accusations should, IMO, be treated very skeptically. Most especially when a lawsuit is involved. That’s just me. There’s always a danger that we judge others’ behavior by our own yardstick. And I’m a gal that, throughout life, has always almost made it a POINT to do the hard thing... meaning “That’d be the day I didn’t report a sexual assault because I was afraid I’d lose my job,” or whatever. I sincerely try to remember that everyone’s not LIKE me. Been a life-long shortcoming, in fact.
Your post made me think of an old saw... “Revenge is a dish best served cold.” Not sure that’ll change my thoughts on the matter, but I must admit I see the possibility of some sweet revenge...
Read my comment #50 - I've got motive in spades for revenge...but I learned a long time ago that the Chinese were right that before taking revenge, dig two graves. In other words, it's often just not worth it. Sometimes, the best revenge really is to simply live well.
That being said, I don't think a single one of those women are taking revenge - they're warning people against what kind of person Roy Moore really is. They're doing their civic duty. Yes, some might see it as long-delayed (as if teenagers could reasonably fight a district attorney), but it is a civic duty nonetheless.
