Singapore is among bottom - 150. To hell with press freedom. You don't need press freedom for political stability, economic growth etc.
Yeah **** the press freedom.
This has been the case in the United States (46th), which fell 13 places, one of the most significant declines, amid increased efforts to track down whistleblowers and the sources of leaks. The trial and conviction of Private Bradley Manning and the pursuit of NSA analyst Edward Snowden were warnings to all those thinking of assisting in the disclosure of sensitive information that would clearly be in the public interest.
Who the **** are the outsiders to gauge our press freedom. The ballot box with free and fair elections is there.
It has to do with their methodology. We really do lack in some of these:
o Pluralism [indicator Plu]
Mesure le degré de représentation des opinions dans l’espace médiatique
o Media independance [indicator Ind]
Measures the degree to which the media are able to function independently of the
authorities
o Environment and self-censorship [indicator EnA]
Analyses the environment in which journalists work
o Legislative framework [indicator CaL]
Analyses the quality of the legislative framework and measures its effectiveness
o Transparency [indicator Tra]
Measures the transparency of the institutions and procedures that affect the production
of news and information
o Infrastructure [indicateur Inf]
Measures the quality of the infrastructure that supports the production of news and
information

The whistleblower is the enemy. Hence the 35-year jail term imposed on Private Chelsea/Bradley Manning for being the big WikiLeaks source, an extremely long sentence
Regarding the US, it has to do with this being a French organization taking up for Snowden and Assange, and even the traitor Manning.
Ad hominem attacks, and xenophobic ones at that... way to lose a debate, Eco!Regarding the US, it has to do with this being a French organization taking up for Snowden and Assange, and even the traitor Manning.
Did anyone else crack a smile when noticing how Ellesmere Island appears to be the size of Brazil when it is really 1/40th the size? Or that Russia appears to be about twice the size of Africa, when truth is it's the other way around? I know the why of this, it just makes me smile to see it.

Obama's America. Spying on the media. Put the IRS on anyone who is critical. Obtained to himself the ability to have anyone secretly imprisoned or assassinated. Ban adverse media from press conferences and the White House. Make everything a classified secret. There is nothing "liberal" about Obama. He is an authoritarian, not a liberal.
Saw this the other day. Watch the patronisers come in.
I smell political bias.

That is the reason for the fall from last year.. but the US was already low due to other factors. Things like media ownership laws and actual number of owners, corporate influence on media and so on. And you cant deny that this aint a problem in the US.
