A federal grand jury indicted Mariia Butina on Tuesday on charges of conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent, adding a new charge against the Russian national, who was arrested over the weekend in Washington and accused of playing a part in a secret Russian attempt to influence U.S. politics.

Jessie Liu, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, signed off on the two-count indictment against Butina, 29, who is accused of working as an unregistered Kremlin agent from at least 2015 through the present day.

The GOP, the NRA, Russian money & now a 29-year-old red-head Russian undercover agent - all perfect together. At least on the bright side she can look forward to her red hair matching the prison-issued orange jump suit uniforms.

Where in that PDF linked in your article does it mention the NRA?

Paragraph 5:

While the indictment doesn’t name the Russian official or the gun rights group, it appears to refer to Alexander Torshin, an associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin and a longtime supporter of the National Rifle Association who also reportedly has ties to both Russian security services and organized crime figures.

Here's paragraph 5 from the PDF linked to in your article.

5. At no time did BUTINA notify the attorney General, whose office in the Department of Justice is located in the District of Columbia, that she would and did act in the United States as an agent of a foreign government and official.

I don't see "NRA" there. Nor "National Rifle Association". Sure you got the right paragraph?

I recounted & it still says P5:

I suggest you just reread the whole article. The NRA reference is in there.

Ah so you didn't reference the PDF that is linked to in your article. You just assumed that because the news article says "NRA" then the PDF also says NRA? Guess what, it doesn't. Your own article admits that the indictment did not mention the NRA. Which means that its a supposition. Not factual. Which means that you have no facts to back up your statement.

I can't repeat the full article because of FAIR USE, but I've twice cut-and-pasted the NRA reference. I don't see the problem.

The problem is that its supposition. An article from a supposed news agency that states supposition as fact. You don't see a problem with that?

Not off hand.

Only readouts from the Soviet Communist Military, as with today, are REAL news in today’s USSA. This is the same Communist Military the USA just indicted, which #45 knew was coming.

There was no clarification Rubio; stop lying. Stay in the Soviet Union when you visit Moscow, Rand Paul; your ilk belongs there.

Good to know you would rather have supposition than FACTS.

You're free to draw your own conclusions. I'm not going to spend the rest of my evening in a circular argument.

Apparently the Italians have dozens of recordings referring to Torshin as "the boss" or "the godfather" so he's a big dog in organized crime. Background here:

BTW, those of you on the left, if you're not reading boomantribune.com - the site owned by the author of the piece above - you should be!

Or if you're on the right and want to know what smart people on the left are saying.

See paragraph 3 of the indictment - it refers to a "GUN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION" which is the NRA. If you doubt it, read the article I posted at #15. This is no secret if you've been following the news.

Here's another article about the links involving NRA and Torshin and the redhead.

Believe what you want, but I posted two articles that detail the extensive links between Torshin, and Butina and the NRA and high ranking members of the NRA, and it's the NRA that doubled or tripled spending in the election in 2016 versus 2012, and the obvious choice for Russians attempting to infiltrate and get a foothold in a powerful organization. And it's at an NRA convention where Don Jr. met with Torshin (allegedly briefly). So it's the NRA.

But, hey, if you want to keep hoping it's not them and it's some organization that's on the fringes, you do you! I'm easy that way.

Indictment does not mention the NRA, only someone who has strong link
to the NRA, I think, but the article does mention it.

Gosh, it's hard to believe that a US indictment would make suppositions, or that a poster would do the same. ;)
