Tucker Carlson, join the military and go do a tour, then discuss Duckworth

There’s no such thing as “progres” that very idea is evidence you believe in some central tenants of Marxism

So all of history is fabricated?

Progress is all there is. We learn from our mistakes individually and culturally. Why shouldn't we?

No, progress comes from a Marxist view of the inevitability of communism.

Many states passed laws heavily restricting abortion lately, this was not considered “progress”

You clearly do not believe any change in society is progress, only ones that arc towards a communist state.

American liberals are not communists just as American conservatives are not white supremacists. That we can find some examples of each in the extreme ends of the Democratic and Republican parties respectively doesn't mean that either party is seeking the hyperbolic extreme end of the spectrum.

To assume one is and not the other is to play into party politics, create division, and fan the flames of fear and hatred in your own country.

You make the assumption that White supremacy naturally flows from conservatism, that is false. The idea of white supremacy was an offshoot of European liberalism. Even the example of slavery. The slave owners were largely educated enlightenment rooted thinkers. The poor whites were more conservative and didn’t own slaves. The enlightened upper class didn’t impose enlightenment ideology on the conservative white masses, but they were not bible thumping or Christian monarchists who believed in Conservatism

On the other hand the modern day Democratic Party includes people who literally call themselves socialists, praise communists like Salvador Allende and Fidel Castro, the upper elites praises communist ideologues like Picasso and Allen Ginsburg. And now they support “black lives matter” a group who’s founders outright say they’re Marxist. I am not seeing very many democrats openly won’t deny allegations of Marxism

Tucker Carlson continues attack on 'moron' and 'coward' Sen. Tammy Duckworth

Carlson called her a coward, moron, and claims she hates America. He took Duckworth's words and twisted them around. Her point was that we should have a dialog about statues in our country. After Carlson went after her on television, Duckworth said she would only appear on his program unless he apologized for questioning her patriotism.

There's absolutely no excuse for Carlson's behavior. He is trying to pick a fight with somebody who might be Biden's VP choice in a couple of weeks.

I'll start with saying I respect any person who served honorably in our military. That said, Carlson has a right to his opinion of Duckworth's opinion pertaining to George Washington. Which is what he did. Question her comments about George Washington. These liberal fools always question the founding fathers as if they lived today and not 300 years ago in a very different situation around the world. I would say it was historical ignorance but I think it's more a case of knowingly using situations for political leveraging. You simply cannot equate Washington with being racist or condemn all his good works because he was a slave owner. If we are going to do that then we must condemn every American black and white for the sins of the other members of their race throughout history. That my friend is he biggest problem we have today, looking beyond the sins of the past into the making of the country to what it is today. The most open, most democratic, most free, most opportunistic nation in the world. Liberals tend to play politics of racism and victimization at every opportunity. With that perspective in mind I'd say Duckworth is a coward because she is not willing to discuss history in context but would rather condemn the Father of the Nation for political gain.

The modern day Republican party literally includes members of the KKK. What exactly is your point here?

What does that mean?

Who in the Republican Party is a literal dues paying member of the KKK?

Name names. It certainly isn’t anyone in any position of power or a major writer or philosopher

And neither is anyone in a position of power in the Democratic party a communist. See how this works?

Don't fall for GOP extremist propaganda if you don't want the people who are going to be running the country in six months to fall for liberal extremist propaganda.

I wouldn’t say that with how many votes Bernie Sanders got, he won a statewide election and got second place in the dem primary. and how much Black Lives matter the group is recieving in financial donations, and there’s openly socialist democrats like AOC and Ilhan Omar are in the party.

I can give you names of high profile people. No Republican leaders are part of the KKK or any avowedly white nationalist groups. I don’t think any Republican could win any state in the country as an open admitted member of a group that was explicitly white identitarian

Are you arguing that if there were one that the Republican Party would therefore be allied with white nationalists and would necessarily have a white nationalist agenda? If I can find one, will you never vote Republican again?

I named three people, one of whom won a substantial national vote count and has been overwhelmingly elected in a statewide race who openly call themselves socialist and believe America is rotten to the core. Find me one single prominent Republican who has won a statewide electoral race openly calling themselves a white racialist, let alone being openly a member of a group that says they are white nationalist. I can think of only one prominent Republican who you can say surely was an actual avowed racist and that was Thurmond. He’s been dead for 17 years now and even he didn’t play racial politics for the last few decades of his career.

Maybe a handful of congressmen who winked and nodded at racists like Steve King. But would Steve King have ever stood a chance in a GOP presidential primary or Senate race? His career hit a ceiling in one district and once he went too far for plausible deniability he was primaried there

You seem to be using a double standard here. For demorats you are counting (any?) outside support from others (in those organizations?) while for republicants you are counting only their personal membership in such organizations - while ignoring any support (donations?) from their members.

That's not what she said or meant. There seems to be an assumption that she hates America and George Washington. She in the interview told Dana Bash, Washington wasn't a traitor. I am still confused on what the issue here is. She asked for an open dialog and allowing our society to listen to each other. Carlson and his followers are arguing, "We don't want to hear opposing viewpoints" or come to any accord.

He may be saying that the current group using the "Republican" name is fast becoming a satellite group of the KKK, so they may not have the dues set up yet.

Fair enough, can you give me examples under your standard?

How many members does the KKK even have?

I am a devout Catholic who is discerning marriage with a Hispanic woman. I wouldn’t join a political party that had ideology remotely approximating the KKK

Likely not, since I don't know any KKK members, but some Trump supporters (of questionable character?) have been sporting confederate flags and Trump 'tweeted' a video including a white power supporter. Trump also seemed to find NASCAR's policy of banning confederate flags objectionable.

Of course, holding politicians responsible for what their (anonymous?) supporters may say/do is a bit much for either major political party's officials since morons abound supporting either (both?) of them.

Do you think most people who are attached to the confederate flag are avowed racists?

Yes I get it was used by segregationists, it has also been used by politicians who were not racists (like Clinton, Gore, Carter, etc)

I think that’s more a reactionary position based on the fact that the modern movement against the confederate flag is not merely a movement against the flag. It’s a culture war issue that most of the defenders do not consider a racialist position.

I’ve seen confederate flags with my own eyes in Latin America displayed by latinos, Catholics in N Ireland used to display it as a symbol of defiance against Protestants

Symbols can morph meanings over time, or be appropriated for other reasons.
Some people need to be more charitable

I think we passed "remotely" a while back.

Oh yes. She is a God now. Build her a statue, and the mob will tear it down anyway.

Why leverage her disability? She is still responsible for what she says. There are others who can't feed themselves. She should be glad to be alive and able to be a House member even if she is a jackass. What are Biden's credentials? Aside from spending 30 some odd years on the tax payers tit and getting nothing done. He acts like cops started killing blacks when Trump got elected, on the contrary, Biden turned a blind, albeit senile eye.

BTW as usual you guys are fos:

Why Is Tucker Carlson Attacking Tammy Duckworth? | Vogue

Only cowards insert words for others to read that are not there.

So all the networks will be quoting "he called her a coward"

There's alot of room between "coward" and "god". People that are saying that you shouldn't call a purple heart double amputee a "coward" aren't saying she's a god. The fact that you would jump all the way to "god" shows just how disingenuous your argument is.

So many people in this country who were unwilling to serve are more than willing to question the bravery of those who have. I remember Trump telling us that he did not consider McCain a hero as he had been captured. What did the brave Trump followers say, NOTHING. Now we have another jackass Tucker Carlson calling Duckworth who joined and served and was wounded a coward. He is the coward. If he wants to question Duckworth as being a coward then he should join up and serve a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan and then he can question her bravery. Until then the coward that he is should just keep his trap shut about her being a coward. And those that are saying it is his right, you should join and serve a tour and then say you agree with him again. Just so you know I volunteered in 69 and come from a military family where my father and 8 out of nine children served.

It's the intellectual cowardice that he's referencing here, which is rampant among the left. That's why they try and cancel everyone because they can't stand on valid premises. Btw...I've done 2 combat tours so do I get a vote now and do I get to tell anyone else to stuff it and not be challenged?

I will concede that not all use of the stars and bars is done with racist intent (Dukes of Hazard comes to mind), but few (if any) racists are likely among those objecting to its continued public display. States' rights proponents need not use the stars and bars as their model (symbol) since that was a rather issue specific (pro-slavery) campaign - including secession and armed rebellion.

You didn't answer my question: Would three racist Republican politicians make the Republican party a racist party?
