Trumps defense?

No. I'm correct. If Warren gets the nod, Biden will not become Trump's opponent in the election.

The whistleblower isn't trump's accuser. The House prosecutors are. They're using evidence from witnesses who trump had every opportunity to cross-examine.

We heard Schiff's "parody" of the whistleblower's complaint, and supposedly that complaint started the whole fiasco. It's imperative that we hear from the actual whistleblower, or we can never say for sure there ever was one. The whole thing could have been contrived by Schiff. The whistleblower must publicly testify.

Again, speculative, Biden will only become Trump's opponent if he wins the nomination.

Anyone who is accused has the right to face their accuser, but certainly a sitting president should have that right because he's in office as a result of the nation's election process, meaning he is the current "voice of the people."

The whistleblower did not directly accuse trump of anything, they just reported suspicious activity, not to mention whistleblower laws were put in place for a reason, and their testimony isnot even relevant.

That anonymous crime stopper call led to one hell of an organized crime syndicate...

How come all of that supposed obstruction wasnt part of the impeachment articles? Ill tell you why. Its because the House dems knew it was garbage. They just told you it wasnt and you fell for it.

Those are crimes he will be charged with after he leaves office.

Except no such thing happened. Rather, the Obama Administration, along with the EU, funded and arranged the ouster of duly elected Ukrainian president that led to the Crimea seceding and voting to join Russia. When that happened, the world became a little less safe, and the United States began a mini Cold War with Russia. If Trump's diplomacy can help right that wrong, it's all good.
Except the Ukraine didn't know any aid was being withheld and no one told them they needed to investigation the Biden thing in order to get the aid.
The American people need to know why Biden was able to threaten the Ukraine into firing their prosecutor? They need to know why Biden felt he had the right to meddle in their affairs.
I sure as heck don't want to read the same sources you're reading -- because you just put forth a good deal of fake news.

OK, you're nothing but a dishonest Russian propagandist.

but that can be the case anyway, trump could not get away with it and the next president could. thats why im saying its how it works, unfortunately . . .i dont agree but just saying . .

That is not how it's supposed to work through.

Hence the impeachment...

With all the evidence against him and more coming out every day what could trumps lawyers possibly be planning to try to defend him?

Or are they just assuming the fix is in?

It wouldn't be an assumption.

OK, you're nothing but a dishonest Russian propagandist.

When the facts are against you -- just insult the person posting them?

All right. I get your game.

What's the probable cause to investigate? Asked you already, and you had no answer.

Ukraine's ex-Prosecutor said he was pressured to drop the investigation into Burisma, the firm that was paying Hunter. In an interview, Viktor Shokin said,“investigations stopped out of fear of the United States.”

Then, Biden forced his firing.

In what world is that not cause to investigate.

If Trump had seen the video of Biden bragging how he forced Ukraine to fire a Prosector, or Ukraine would not get the $billion, Biden's braggadocios confession would be a valid excuse to investigate. Biden has a habit of slipping up and this may have been an ill timed slip up of the facts. It would be in the na†tonal interest to ask Ukraine to verify Biden's Claim since this is a sensitive situation.

Biden also implicated Obama, according to his confession, when he told the Ukrainian Officials to call Obama to verify that Biden had the authority. Well, by golly, they fired the Prosecutor, implying Obama participated in a quid pro quo. Since quid pro quo is sufficient reason to impeach a president, according to the Democrats, if Biden did of this he cannot run for president since he would need to be impeached for what the Democrats have told us is grounds for impeachment.

If I was Trump's defense team, I would play the Biden video for everyone in the Senate Hall and in front of the TV cameras so the American public can also see. Many Democrats have denied seeing it or have denied the claims Biden made. This will set the record straight. Then the defense can make the case, since quid pro quo is so bad according to the Democrats, this video became a valid lead for a crime, that required the President speak with Ukraine. It implicated the top of the US government and only President had the power to see it through without road blocks.

I would stop the video at the part where Biden implicates Obama and say this part of Biden's confession means we need to be call Obama as a witness. We can play than part, a bunch of times, until the Democrats smell the coffee and use their power of reason. I would also call in the Ukrainian Officials who were in the middle of this. Maybe we would have to impeach Obama, after the fact, so his official record now shows impeachment, in the future.

As an alternative, I would call in the IG who was in charge of the Whistle Blower and ask why he changed the Whistle Blower complaint form to allow third hand gossip, instead of use the original form which specified a whistle blower needed first hand evidence. Was this a mistake that opened a can of worms, or was this planned as part of a conspiracy? The defense may need to dig. This is how you shift the focus of impeachment back to the accusers. Schiff is a habitual liar and he will fall into a perjury trap. Or maybe they can do both at the same time, since the trial will take weeks.

Biden's opposition to the prosecutor was part of a bi-partisan effort because was notoriously corrupt.

The whistleblower did not directly accuse trump of anything, they just reported suspicious activity, not to mention whistleblower laws were put in place for a reason, and their testimony isnot even relevant.

The testimony is relevant -- it's the only way we can conclude there was an actual whistleblower, and not just a ploy by Schiff.

Holy smoke! Trump has been impeached because he PROPOSED that this be investigated.
Now we are arguing that it would have been ok to actually investigate it?

That is not why he's being Impeached.

If what you guys are throwing around is going to be trumps defense Republicans are going to look pretty damn corrupt after all the evidence is presented, and they let him off.

That is not how it's supposed to work through.

Hence the impeachment...

i agree with you on a subjective moral level but it is how it is exactly designed . . the impeachment is only half the equation

he SHOULD be removed for something like that, Obstruction of congress is inexcusable but the system allows him not to be . .

again i agree with you but whats the fix? is there one?

Yes, the Biden video where he admits forcing the firing of the prosecutor should be front and center. It is, after all, what triggered this entire thing.

and if there was no actual whistleblower - just where did this information come from that proved to be true?

Why should he be removed for thinking about something as opposed to actually doing it?
Kind of a low bar for impeachment and removal and seems to set a very bad precedent.

The articles don't charge him with "thinking about" it, they charge him with doing it - leveraging his power to gain a political advantage. A defense, if he makes one, that it didn't work and he gave up the pressure when he realized it was failing doesn't absolve him of abusing his power in the first place any more than a failed bank robbery absolves the robber.

and if there was no actual whistleblower - just where did this information come from that proved to be true?

It didn't all prove to be true, which is why we need to hear from the one who originally "blew the whistle."

It's even worse then that. Vicky Nuland ( Hillary State dept) and John McCain were on the ground

The consequence of Uk. not willing to re-lease Sevastopol to Russia forced the Crimean annexation

In what world is that not cause to investigate.

The American president's description of Shokin as “that very good” prosecutor, quoted during his now-infamous 25 July call with President Volodymyr Zelensky, certainly surprised most Ukrainians. For the former prosecutor, it was a chance to rehabilitate himself.

The wild conspiracy theory on which Trump based his assertion – that Joe Biden had Shokin removed to stop him investigating wrongdoing in his son’s gas company – has already been widely debunked.

Put simply, the chronology doesn’t work – the investigation into Burisma, where Hunter worked, was dormant by the time Shokin was pushed out. It would also represent a major historical anomaly. During Shokin’s 13 months in office, not one major figure was convicted. No oligarch. No politician. No ranking bureaucrat. It would appear unlikely he was in the middle of breaking the habit with the Bidens.

The aid was released.
No investigation required.

I think they'll probably just state what's happened - Trump was within his rights to ask Ukraine's leader to investigate the situation with Biden and his son. Trump was within his rights to withhold aid money. Biden was not Trump's political opponent at the time -- he still isn't and may never be -- so the democrats accusations are baseless.

Being Obama's VP and the front runner for the nomination makes him Trump's #1 opponent and his "interest" in Ukraine corruption did not start until Biden announced.. Withholding Congressional aid without notifying Congress is illegal. Having private American citizens spy on an American ambassador is also a crime.

I remember that -- why the MSM didn't do more reporting on it is beyond me.

He didn't leverage the power.

The bank analogy falls because it's against the law to rob, or attempt, to rob a bank.
It's not against the law to place conditions upon foreign aid.

Not true. We have this:

The CIA’s general counsel made what she considered to be a criminal referral to the Justice Department over the whistleblower’s allegations against President Trump weeks before the complaint became public, ABC News reports. The whistleblower reportedly passed along his concerns to the agency’s top lawyer, Courtney Simmons Elwood, through colleagues. Two days after the whistleblower filed the complaint—which at the time was still secret—Elwood reportedly participated in a conference call along with the top legal adviser to the White House National Security Council in which the two told the top Justice Department national security lawyer that the allegations against Trump warranted a Justice Department examination.

CIA General Counsel Made Criminal Referral to DOJ Based on Whistleblower Allegations Against Trump: NBC

I would like to know why the DOJ declined to investigate, but I'm sure it's a secret.

When did they receive the aid, the day after trump got caught...

After Congress, in bipartisan fashion, stated they would withhold Defense funds unless the aid was not released.
