Donald Trump said Tuesday that “I have no idea” if former President
Bill Clinton and
Hillary Clinton were somehow involved in the death of Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financier
who died last weekend after an apparent jailhouse suicide.
Trump also told reporters that he wants a “full probe” of the death of Epstein, an accused child sex trafficker, on Saturday, which conspiracy theorists have suggested — without any evidence at all — was the fault of the Clintons.

Everyone knows that Trump re-tweeted a conspiracy theory about Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein. It included the hashtag #ClintonBodyCount. Yesterday, he double-down on that tweet. He gave excuses about why it was perfectly okay to re-tweet that disgusting conspiracy theory and basically repeated it to a reporter as he was about to board his helicopter heading to his Bedminster Golf Club.
“I know he [Bill Clinton] was on his plane 27 times,” Trump said.
He also called Clinton “a very good friend of Epstein’s.”
On July 7th, spokesperson for Bill Clinton issued this statement.
“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” the statement from a Clinton spokesperson reads.
“In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a tot al of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation,” the statement adds.
