Trump: 'Robert E. Lee was a great general'

That list is massively ****ed. Trafalgar should be way higher, and that the Battle of Tsushima is not on it is a crime. Chancellorsville should in no way be on the list(OMG, he used a flank attack, how brilliant...), and Breitenfeldt should maybe be at the top. Where is Agincourt?

“Slick” is apparently quoting a discussion on the forum of a video game site.

So evenly when you leave out the obsessive Confederacy worship, the list is hardly what one would call a reputable one.

Sorry, but no. It was slavery alone which brought on the war.

"Whether by the House or by the People, if an Abolitionist be chosen President of the United States, you will have presented to you the question of whether you will permit the government to pass into the hands of your avowed and implacable enemies... such a result would be a species of revolution by which the purposes of the Government would be destroyed and the observance of its mere forms entitled to no respect. In that event, in such manner as should be most expedient, I should deem it your duty to provide for your safety outside the Union of those who have shown the will, and would have acquired the power, to deprive you of your birthright and reduce you to worse than the Colonial dependence of your fathers."

Sorry. but no. Slavery was not the only reason.

Denial is just a big river in Egypt.

The secession and the Confederacy's existence were predicated on slavery, on preserving and defending it against containment, as virtually all of its founders from Robert Barnwell Rhett to Jefferson Davis unashamedly declared in 1861.

Where it came from is irrelevant. That it is ****ed up is.

Until I did my genealogy several years ago I never knew about my "Yankee" kin via my Rogers side who settled in Kittery, ME, Ipswich and Boston, MA and RI in 1630. Funny thing is that when the Rogers' and Whipple's married, had families and expanded many of them moved to the South and intermarried with my Godwin's who were in VA in 1610. I often wondered which battles they fought side by side in the Revolution and 1812 and then which battles they fought against one another in the Civil War.

But...I kinda wish Ft. Meyer was still named Ft. Whipple on Lee-Custis land. Have you ever been to Chancellorsville? It is the most eerie place to be. It feels almost haunted with all of those lost souls. Thanks for your post.

I'm pleased to honor your progenitor Brig.Gen. Amiel Weeks Whipple who gave his life to the United States and to the preservation of the Union that ended slavery across our precious land. Not only did your great uncle sacrifice his life to the cause, it was taken by traitors.

As I'd pointed out the post is -- since 2005 -- Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall which combines Army and Marines stationed next to the Pentagon. That's more than enough to convince any enemy to stay home instead. Throw in Navy, AF and CG as we all form up across the Joint Force Command - National Capital Region and we're awesome. So here we are gathered up as one at the Pentagon River Entrance to shove off the then SecDef Donald Rumsfeld...

The U.S. Military holds a formal pass in review in honor of retiring Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld

The colonel commanding the Army Old Guard Infantry Regiment at JB Myer-HH is always commander of troops for joint force ceremonies in the National Capital Region to include WH. The colonel is supported by a joint staff rep from each service ceremonial unit. The service bands rotate through the ceremonies so this time it's the AF (which plays Officer of the Day March for the review).

The color guard bears the flag of each service l-r in order of seniority which is also presented in the formation of the joint force on the field and passing in review - Army, Marines, Navy, AF, CG. Gen. Peter Pace was the first USMC chairman of the JCS. The present CJCS Gen. Joseph Dunford is the second Marine to gain the honor and responsibility. Pace served one term (two years) while Dunford is serving in his second and -- by law -- final term of the CJCS (four years max). This is all for the Marine Eternal Rumsfeld btw.

As to the post nomenclature some of us have long preferred that Ft. Myer -- originally Ft. Whipple -- be renamed Ft. Patton after the general who did four tours at the post in horse cavalry, armor and as post commander during the Army's transition from horse cavalry to armor (to include later Army Air Cavalry). So and with all due respect to the Whipple family honorable lineage a rose is a rose by any name. Whipple Field at Myer-HH is a winner and a very fine one at that. I know well both Whipple Field and the Pentagon River Entrance where I've been privileged to trek the thick grass in each instance. The whole is stellar no matter how we look at it.

So in other words you are throwing a temper tantrum because you don’t have any facts or logic to support your laughable fantasies. Noted.

Your ideology ended with Europe in utter ruins last time it was tried. There are no bigger failures than your ilk. And you doubling down on your fantasies about ethnically cleansing Europe makes your shrieks of “fascist” even funnier.

Yes, the people fleeing a would be caliphate in Syria are the ones who are going to “remake Europe into one”

I get stupidity is a prerequisite for supporting ethnic cleansing, but c’mon bush even you can’t be that dumb.

I’ve already gone over your examples. Italian governments are laughably unstable and have a higher turnover rate than the Cleveland Browns quarterback position. Ukraine isn’t going to do anything that jeopardizes western support when the Russian beat is at their throat. Likewise, Poland wants more American boots on the ground. Central Europe blows whichever way they think the wind is strongest, so the existence of your favorite thugs means nothing.

Lol no bud, Germany is not “dictator of Europe”.

Yep, and all it will take is more republicans doubling down on support for slavers to send their best made plans toppling out the window. Hell, better yet if they try to support your little ethnic cleansing scheme none of them might be left in power. So go for it bud :lamo

Lol yes, you fascists would know how to commit suicide quite well wouldn’t you given what happened in 1945 :lamo

OK fine...you yarn on and on about WWII, in the mean time, we virtebrates will deal with Europe and NA.
See you after the Dems lose everything, and Europe is either split, or free again.

Bye bye...

You have it backwards. The opinions "are what the Constitution says as supreme law" because they are set forth by the Supreme Court. It's simply a restatement of Hughes.

Says who? The court? They dont make law. They certainly cant make up their own powers. The constitution specifically states that this is congresses power.

No bud, people who promote ethnic cleansing are not “vertebrates”. They are the lowest of the low, cowardly scum who routinely target unarmed men, women and children.

Your ideology is a colossal failure, as World War Two proved beyond a shadow of any doubt.

I hate to break it to you but your little ethnic cleansing scheme is never going to happen, so you might as well give up buddy :lamo

I see you still don’t have any argument...... again, other than being prevented from owning slaves, what “right” is the South denied that the rest of the country has?

Marbury v. Madison established the Supreme Court's right of judicial review. That is the basis of the statement by Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes: "The Constitution is what the judges say it is."

You are dead wrong. It is human nature and an instinct to protect one's home.
Look at the warm reception the Arabs gave the white Russian Zionists. Human nature.
You expect the European people to just accept millions of these Africans (mostly) just because you and Angela say they should?
You're dreaming in technicolor Tiger. Europe is now well on its way to splitting again, only this time the eastern portion is about twice the size with Greece, Austria and East Germany on the outs. Its all over. England doesn't want them. Scandanavia has made it rather clear they don't want them. Italy doesn't want them.

However...it sounds like there's room at your house. Do you want them?

The right to liberty, as I said. To govern themselves, print their own currency, build their own armies, make their own treaties, make their own laws, etc.

Marbury v. Madison established the Supreme Court's right of judicial review. That is the basis of the statement by Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes: "The Constitution is what the judges say it is."

So the court approved its own actions and created its own power. How is that logical? Especially when the constitution specifically gives that power to congress?

Congress shall have the power...To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

So the court approved its own actions and created its own power. How is that logical? Especially when the constitution specifically gives that power to congress?

The SCOTUS does not make law, but it has the power to review laws to determine whether they are compatible with the Constitution. Those that are not are null and void.

Vertebrate....

If you are going to insult some one, do at least try and do it right...

Oh, so the rest of the country has the right to make their own foreign policy?

Sorry bud, but there is no "right" to establish your own country.

Especially when not a single other country acknowledged your previous attempt at independence.

Ethnic cleansing like you dream about does not qualify as "defending one's home" bud. I really do hate to burst your bubble

Oh, I don't you and the rest of the SS wannabes to do anything sane. After all, you are still clinging to a laughably dumb ideology which got Western Europe burnt to the ground the first time around.

As I said before.....Central Europe goes whichever way they think the wind is blowing hardest. The rest of your post is just you desperately shrieking bull**** into the void in hopes that if you scream loud enough it will come true :lamo

Hmm....sounds like the most humble refugee is worth you and all your buddies put together.

OH MY GAWD...NAZI NAZI NAZI! :lamo
"Central Europe goes whichever way they think the wind is blowing hardest"
What do you know of Central Europe? I lived there for 10 years. My wife and I still have a house there. Our daughter was born there.
Central Europe has been screwed by the Brits, the Russians, and the USA. They go their own way, thank you very much. Try not making **** up that you know zero about...

Humble Refugees. Like the ones that raped and continue to rape the women of Europe? Crime has risen 10% in Europe and 90% of that is directly attributed to these "humble" refugees. Gawd what horse-**** you spew forth.

When you know at least something about the region and the facts, come back and we'll talk.
Until then, you're just parroting sound-bytes that have no basis in anything other than your narrow whims.

Bye

There is no such power listed in the constitution. That was made up by the court itself.

So you dont believe in the right to liberty then, pal. Or the right to abolish government and self govern. Where in the constitution did states agree to never leave the union then? Or the power of the Union to prohibit states from leaving?
