If you look into Gallups numbers, this is more interesting:

As Trump's job approval rating has improved, so has the image of the Republican Party. Now, 51% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, up from 43% in September. It is the first time GOP favorability has exceeded 50% since 2005.

Meanwhile, 45% of Americans have a positive opinion of the Democratic Party, a slight dip from 48% in September.

What's amazing about this is Trump has done it with the mainstream media squarely against him. Every day. All the time. At 49%, Trump is three points ahead of 0bummer at the same stage of his presidency. And 0bummer had a fawning media.

I always add 8% to gallup polls for the republican presidents as gallup polls are always weighted to poll 8% more democrats then republicans.
