Goodness. As if the hyperbole on the Right couldn't get any more ridiculous.

Trump calls impeachment inquiry a 'lynching' - CNNPolitics

President Donald Trump on Tuesday called House Democrats' impeachment inquiry a "lynching," employing a term associated with the extrajudicial killings of African-Americans while calling on Republicans to aid his political defense.

I wonder if the translation of this cry for help means the GOP is jumping off the sinking ship. Could well be that the tea leaves are no longer as green as they ought be, and many are signaling to Mitch that defending the Trumpster is no longer in their best interests.

It must make you sad that the 2020 Dem candidates are basically unelectable, but this impeachment ploy isn't going to work. Just like all the other attempts.

What a horrible choice of wording but nothing I don't expect any more from a man with a grade school vocabulary. I do however, expect more from our President and hate how he uses that kind of inflammatory language to divide us more.

Trump has probably never even read the US Constitution let alone have any knowledge of the powers and checks on those powers contained in it.

I bet you also said Democrats couldn't control Congress. But, hey, if you want another four years of a thief, fraud and racist in office, be my guest and vote for a venal crook. Doesn't say much about Trump's voting base though, if they are quite happy to condone his appalling behaviour by voting for him. You wouldn't vote for a thief, surely? I'm sure you are far more principled.

Does the 'piggishness' of this person know no bounds?

"It's just a goddam piece of paper" as Bush II anecdotally pronounced. I imagine Trump feels the same now his megalomania has been sated.

Uh-huh.

“As Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives work through an impeachment inquiry regarding alleged abuses of office by President Donald Trump, approval of Congress is now at 25%. That is up from 18% in September, prior to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing the impeachment inquiry following news of possible wrongdoing by the president in communications with Ukraine.

This update, from an Oct. 1-13 Gallup poll, also finds that Trump's approval rating remains flat, at 39%, ....

Currently, 52% say Trump should be impeached and removed from office, while 46% say he should not be. This is roughly the opposite of what Gallup found in June when asked in the context of special counselor Robert Mueller's investigation.“

There is nothing more abhorrent than a pasty white guy talking about being lynched. It gives me the douche-chills.

The term is apt and applicable outside of race.

Language like this is not going to help with the GOP demographics problem

Is that you way of agreeing with Trump that he is being lynched? Or will you have the slightest bit of vertebrae and call that out for what it is?
Deflection does not serve you well here.

Aww, the poor guy.

He is quite the little victim.
I think he came up with that all by himself. Pretty precocious.

Trump lives bigly, so he also suffers bigly.
To bigly suffering Trump, an investigation which could result in him being barred from holding government office ever again in the waning years of his life is the same level of suffering as being caught up by a mob and hanged.

If the House actually votes to impeach... Oh Lord!
Then Trump will suffer as though the entire reign of Pol Pot were visited upon him personally.

And if the Senate doesn't acquit...
There is no comparison adequate to the suffering Trump will endure if the Senate says Trump is unable to hold government office ever again in the waning years of his ostensibly billionaire life.

No. It is not. Lynching is tied to race, period. Full stop.

Tell that to all the Italians who were strung up in AMERICA. Out of all the people lynched in America, nearly 30% were not black.

I so look forward to the day when Trump goes and has to endure the 'loser-in-chief' moniker for the rest of his miserable days. Watching his ego being deflated would be as satisfying for me as having a glass of 15 year-old single malt. I might even consider investing in a 25 year-old to raise a glass or three in celebration of his ignominious demise, as he flies off to Mar-a-****ing-Lago for the last time.

...but likening ICE facilities to Nazi death camps is totally fine:roll:

Stealing from Americans is totally fine? Fraudulently stiffing students and having to pay out $25 million to them in settlement is totally fine? Stealing charity funds to buy portraits of himself is totally fine? Trump thinks so, and I guess so must you by supporting him. Yes, totally fine.

Nobody plays the victim quite like Trump.

No one anywhere, ever, was as "unelectable" as Trump. And, we saw how that played out. Didn't we?

Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people. :)
