Trump displays altered weather map showing Dorian could have hit Alabama

This is also from NOAA: Look familiar?

EDuiBzHWkAAXxCi.jpg:large

That is the probability of tropical force winds, not where the hurricane was going to hit. It was for the next 120 hr

The president is still tweeting about it! If he'd have owned up to his mistake it would be carrying on, but no, he just keeps tweeting and even calling a fox reporter to come in so he could try and convince him he had been right all along. Its never ever Trump's fault, its always somebody else. That's grade school bs. Not presidential. But you go ahead and keep stroking his fragile little ego.

Thanks for making my point.

Map flap: Trump displays altered weather map showing Dorian could have hit Alabama - ABC News

After drawing criticism for inaccurately warning over the weekend that Alabama could get hit by Hurricane Dorian -- even after government meteorologists disputed that was the case -- President Donald Trump on Wednesday held up a map that appeared to have a line drawn on it in black making it seem as if he had been right all along.

The guy redrew the weather map with a sharpie to prove he was right about Dorian was going to hit Alabama. I never saw anyone so insecure in my life, who just can’t admit he was wrong.

Worse, what he did was a crime.

Wouldn’t it funny if this got him impeached?

It's hard to tell if his behavior is caused just by chronic insecurity or by dementia, or both. Since he won't even let physicians tell the truth about him, I'm not sure we'll ever know.

I made an account just so I could reply to this thread and give my two cents.

Here's the bottom line: Trump tweeted inaccurate, out-of-date information about the Hurricane. Instead of admitting his mistake, like any normal human being would do, he modified a weather map in an attempt to cover up his mistake. That was a lie, plain and simple. It is for this reason that Trump deserves criticism. If you are a Trump supporter and you insist on defending Trump by trying to portray what Trump did as anything other than a lie, you are also a liar and you too deserve to be criticized.

The world according to you...

I guarantee you that the faux outrage expressed to this story won't even last a week until the echo chamber is onto to the next Trump is a criminal fairy tale.

There is only one way to interpret the statute. That's the world according to every thinking person, not just the poster you were talking with. But, in my opinion, this violation of the law doesn't really matter anyway. We already know that Trump will not be held accountable for anything he does. The real concern is that the president of the US does this kind of stuff in the first place. I'm not exaggeraring when I say that he exhibits symptoms of Alzheimer's or a milder form of dementia. This kind of behavior is thoroughly bat **** crazy.

This isn't a Trump lie; it's a deranged left mass hysteria.

Those things are not mutually exclusive. Even if it is "deranged left mass hysteria" (although frankly, I think it's hysteria to characterize it that way), it is still also a Trump lie. I don't have a problem with Trump supporters per se. I have a problem with the ones who can't acknowledge reality.

Smart people know when they're right....Remember RussiaGate...how many times did MSM claim Trump lied and still do from false reports leaked to media

Trump lies several times a day, on average. Get yourself out of the right wing echo chamber.

The PRESIDENTIAL PROOF map he posted was dated 8/28/19. The 5 AM map on 9/1 showed no threat to AL.
He lied. And he has yet to show any concern for those affected.

Maybe he was just wishing that AL would get hit so he could give government assistance to his supporters? This whole thing is so bizarre.

Funny that people who are whining for days over such trivial matters don't see themselves as the "gd" crybabies...

Shouldn't they be onto their next faux crisis?

It is day six, and Trump is still tweeting about it.

No false claim. The map shows a distinct possibility that the stone will hit Alabama. Do President's words matter? Yeah, I'm still waiting for the $2500 saving on healthcare insurance Obama promised me. Oh, and the earth hasn't cool, nor the oceans receded as he promised. And it's hard to ignore the people who lost their HC plans and/or doctors. But, yeah, a NOAA map is far more important.

This is the definition of a double standard. You didn't like Obama when he misled people or was simply wrong, but you don't mind when Trump misleads people or is simply wrong. Things like that limit a person's credibility.

At this point most of us get it.

Trump is an idiot. He can't stand being wrong about anything, so...this.

His adoring fans (we see them in this thread) continue to build massive biceps/triceps by carrying his water. Not sure why anymore, it makes you also look like idiots, but if you're OK with that, I am too.

The rest of us realize that Trump is indeed an idiot. He is not going to get any better.

I know that Trump supporters don't care about global politics or anything except themselves, but the Gallup study of world opinions about the US for 2018 is illustrative and concerning. Anyone wanting to read the full report will need to subscribe, but it's well worth it for people with a global perspective.

Ok, fine, I don't what to encourage any more Trumpophobic ramblings.

The impeachment talk is silly, but it's not "rambling" to criticize the sitting president of the US for using, in an Oval Office press briefing, a posterboard map marked up with a Sharpie in a pathetic attempt to signal to the third of the country that has been lobotomized that he was never wrong and is never wrong. Seriously, this kind of behavior is not normal. If the president is not well, he should seek help. If he's fine, then we should consider what this kind of behavior says about us, our society, our politics, and our values.

This thread and topic is a known and typical of the lies of the propaganda outlets of the corporate super rich that demand unlimited illegal immigration to keep wages down - and no tariffs against their foreign sweatshops - so they non-stop tell any lies against the President, which Democrats including on this forum then repeat.

The chart he showed is EXACTLY what was originally predicted. For at least the 10 years I've been here and over a dozen hurricanes, never before has a hurricane stopped over an area for 2 days, then made a sharp turn to the North.

I don't understand so many Democrats including on this forum aren't embarrassed to admit they are so stupid as to buy this false attack. The only explanation I can think of is 1.) they are in a mindless religious zealot frame of mind to the CNN and the other propaganda outlets of the richest corporations and people on earth who OWN CNN and the other MSM outlets and the press. Or they really ARE that stupid.

The chart is the original predictions based upon how hurricanes usually travel. They rarely stop and then make a sharp turn away from land.

I am confident CNN staff laugh their asses off every night at you people who believe there self evident absurd claims as "facts." It seems they DO know how stupid their viewers are.

The article was published by ABC, not CNN. The map was the official projection, yes, but the Sharpie markings were not. NOAA doesn't revise hurricane projections with markers.

How have conservatives not figured out that nobody gives a **** what “original” forecasts said?

I would say this kind of behavior is associated with his narcissistic personality disorder. However, his constant forgetting about category five hurricanes and difficulty pronouncing ‘origins’ may be signs of dementia.

This thread is why no one should take what most Democrats who post on this forum seriously.

CNN constantly punks their viewers with claims SO KNOWN to be FALSE, it is daily. It is understood to create zealots out of followers is to increasingly call upon them to believe what is obviously false. Deeper and deeper in zealot loyalty such weak personalities will go. CNN deliberately lies - known and obvious lies - because this makes their followers more and more loyal - by making them go deeper and deeper into cult worship of the leaders of the cult.

Such cultist Democrats then rush to this forum, post the absurd known lies, ranting and sobbing, while cheering each other with likes - proving just what mindless submissive fools they are.

This one isn't a matter of opinion. CNN lied. Anyone watching the hurricane closely knows it. Anyone can research it to see it a lie. But it doesn't matter to CNN worshiping zealot Democrats including on the forum.

This claim was known to CNN to be totally false. 100%. The only time it was certain Dorian would turn North is when it did. Predictions of hurricane actions and paths are almost impossible to predict. Did any predict it would stop over the Bahamas and destroy it for 36 hours straight? No. The "noodles" had it hitting land across nearly a dozen states.

But CNN knows it can tell ANY lie, no matter how easily anyone can prove it false, because they know their followers have the zealot blind loyalty of Jehovah's Witnesses and those who chant Hari Krishna. Worshippers of CNN would trip over themselves to drink the Kool Aid at Jonestown.

Wow. Well. I'm not often speechless, but my mouth was agape as I read that. CNN doesn't have anything to do with this story. And I'm not sure what Democrats have to do with it either. I'm not suggesting that you need to be outraged by the Sharpie embarassment, but you could at least acknowledge that that is the topic.

I'm not a Trump fan, but he is fascinating to me. I would read with great interest every word of a comprehensive psychological profile of him. If he's not crazy, then I would love to know the origins of his utterly incomprehensible personality.

Because I respect your intelligence I'll ask: Do you really think it is acceptable that the POTUS would present an altered and thereby blatant distortion of a map to the American people in order to justify an obvious misstatement he made prior? Wouldn't it just be better if he could say he had made a mistake? At what level of incompetency do you think other branches of government should be involved?

He could also just let it go. We all know people who never apologize, never admit when they're wrong, never acknowledge their mistakes. He could just shut up and move to the next thing. But this Sharpie thing is delusional and so weird.

What I like is the ex-Canadian PM who publicly said she hopes the hurricane tears into Trump's Florida resort - and many Democrats on this forum joined in - hoping that a million poor and working people's lives are destroyed just for a ha-ha against President Trump - that would not have affected him or any other wealthy Floridian because they leave the region for hurricanes.

The hurricane was heading straight for Trump's resort as the most likely path at that time. But the hurricane stopped for an entire day - less than 100 miles short of Trump's resort - no one can remember any hurricane just stopping like that - and then took a hard right turn North. Trump's place wasn't hit. But they claim Canada's Nova Scotia is gonna get swamped! Lucky Canadians. That ex-PM dared a hurricane to attack Canada! :lamo

You just railed about the PM's lamentable comment and then made a joke about Canadians being affected by Dorian. Classy.

Where is the crime? Has Trump been arrested yet?

Or are you just hopelessly hoping for the above :bs to stick to the wall again?

Shameful, that you actually believe the above is "breaking news"....

Looks like Fox News isn't respecting the trump's superior meteorologist abilities. Those darn liberals on Fox!

My man, I think you're the most insightful and informative poster on this forum. Thank you. Reading your posts is always a pleasure.

Thanks, I appreciate that. It helps that I'm a historian, for all the good it does with some. Sometimes it's like trying to hammer a very nicely polished silver stake through steel, which encases a wall of brittle concrete.
