Trump digs in on racist tweets: ‘Many people agree with me’

Trump has proven time and again that he knows squat about government and even less about history of any kind. Trump thinks his father immigrated to the US. His father didn't. His grandfather immigrated here from Germany. The town where Trump's grandfather was from was very poor and could have used the Trump family's financial help. The Trump family could have returned and helped the town rise out of **** hole status. That never happened.

Trump's grandfather was drafted to serve in the German army as all young men were at the time. His country needed him but Trump's grandfather left Germany and denied service to his country. Fred Trump never served his country and we all know about Cadet Bone spurs. Ironic, innit?

And this is a good anti-Trump post... you should teach some of these loons how you do it so concisely and well...

I think AOC should be allowed to stay but should probably go back to bartending. ET has got to go! I don't even know who this 4th member of the suicide squad is. Talib is a potty mouth so I think just publicly washing her mouth out with soap seems reasonable. None of them should be in government. This has been a complete disaster. I believe Nancy Pelosi would agree with me.

I didn't have any ****ing doubt... I was asking for clarification so that we were on the same page and so you could not wiggle out once I beat you... but all you ****ing do is Red Herrings and Straw Man arguments and it is ****ing pathetic.

Fine... four congresswomen.

So... despite him knowing now (if he didn't know) that those 3 Congresswomen were born in America, why is he continuing to defend his tweets about telling them to go back to their countries?

OK. So what. How does making it plural instead of singular make his statement racist?

Even if it was singular for one person it would still be racist.

See other posts for explanation of why.

Red Herring... and because he is conflating their lineage with were they were born.

Not sure how much more of this I c an take... and do you know why it is a Red Herring?

Yes. Explain how it is a Red Herring?

That is a debate fail. You lose.

What a debater does not do is argue a point and when asked a question tell their opponent to look somewhere else for an answer.

You and Lefty... peas in a pod.

Yes. Explain how it is a Red Herring?

"The red herring is as much a debate tactic as it is a logical fallacy. It is a fallacy of distraction, and is committed when a listener attempts to divert an arguer from his argument by introducing another topic. This can be one of the most frustrating, and effective, fallacies to observe."

Logical Fallacies >> Red Herring

We were talking about racism and now you are talking about defending his Tweets... pretty simple.

Or perhaps all it was is that they were not born here or have recent ancestry from crappy countries?

No, three Congresswomen, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts were all born in the US. Ilan Omar of Minnesota is the only one of the four not born in the US. She was born in Somalia and her parents moved to the US when she was 8 years old. She's a naturalized citizen and received her citizenship even before Melania Trump received hers.

Ayanna Pressley is a black woman. OAC is a Puerto Rican. Rashida Tlaib was born to parents from Palestine and she's Muslim. Ilan Omar is black, from Somalia and a Muslim.

If you honestly want to debate my explanations, you can see them in this thread (which is still short), quote them and argue against what I have said. Do not expect me to copy my posts every time a person asks me the same thing.

I know that... my thinking is that he doesn't know or doesn't care where they are from.

I was told by a white Kiwi that I was arguing with to go back to my country... didn't take it as racist at all.

Yes he is defending his tweets. How is that Red Herring? He knows that those 3 Congresswomen are born here in America. So which countries is Trump telling them to go back to? Had those women been white, would Trump have said the same thing?

Comparison fail. A more appropriate comparison would be someone telling Aborigines to go back to countries they are from.

He knows that! THis is why he tried to argue that the tweet was only about Omar. He thought that it is easier to defend saying to a US citizen who was not born in the US to go back to her country.

Because defending his tweets has nothing to do with racism charges... look, you are debating really, really... REALLY well.

Keep it up.

I was seeking clarification because no, I did not know that initially. I live way the heck over here in New Zealand and do not sit on the edge of my seat reading Trump Tweets... anyway... you know my thoughts about how you debate and the quality of your argument.

I'm pretty sure he knows that. These four progressives have been in his face since they came to Washington. It's pretty common knowledge that two are Muslim, but all are women of color which is obvious of course.

I'm one of possibly only a few that watch C-SPAN and today watched as Congessman Ted Lieu who is Asian and Congesswoman Pramila Jayapal who is from India, spoke on the floor of the House as to how many times they have been told by people to 'go back to their own country'. This is something only a racist would say to someone of color.

Democrats in the US House of Representatives just formally declared themselves to be racists.

I am not sure that there are any Aborigines in New Zealand... at least I have never met one.

I'll try again because I am a patient man.
He knows NOW that those three women were born here in America. Why is he continuing to defend his tweets telling them to go back to their countries when they were born here? What is the reason for that?

About time... now will all Democrats respond in kind?

I answered this a few times... because he probably does not care OR because he is not defending that aspect of his tweets... but since you are one that does not like to show the actual tweet/quote that you are referring to, it gets a bit difficult to be accurate.
