Trump is holding a campaign rally in N. Carolina. I don't expect him to have a positive message, one of hope, one that's uplifting. It's going to be dark, negative and hostile towards 'the squad'. He will repeat that the women said disgusting things and if they don't like America, they should leave.

He says he "has to get the word out to the American people". "We are not going to be a socialist country".

So there's the preview. If you hoped to hear something positive about a new health care plan, or maybe that our rusting bridges will be repaired or that children will be returned to their mothers, don't hold your breath. It's going to be another session of throwing out red meat to the salivating base.

Trump supporters begin filling up Minges ahead of campaign rally

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Minges Coliseum is starting to full up as thousands of people braved the heat and lined up outside for their chance to see President Donald Trump this evening.

The president is expected to speak tonight at 7 p.m. during a campaign rally.

ECU police Captain Chris Sutton says they are still expecting the arena to be at full capacity.

A heat advisory will be in effect until 7 p.m. so those who spent hours in line were told to drink plenty of water, wear light clothing and to use plenty of sunblock.

By 2:00 p.m., ten people in line had been treated for the heat by paramedics. One of those was sent to the hospital, according to officials.

Big Rally tonight in Greenville, North Carolina. Lots of great things to tell you about, including the fact that our Economy is the best it has ever been. Best Employment & Stock Market Numbers EVER. I’ll talk also about people who love, and hate, our Country (mostly love)! 7:PM

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 17, 2019

In the 2016 election, President Trump won North Carolina by 3 percent over his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton. Tonight’s rally will be the president’s first since officially kicking off his re-election campaign in Orlando, Florida, in June.

He always gets a great turnout for his hate speeches and yet his poll numbers barely move.

Funny.... he beat old Hillary Clinton. And every attempt the democrat's have tried to get him out of office was met with a great big failed attempt!
The place will be full and rocking tonight! But that's a downer for some.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. :2wave:

It’s a downer because there is nothing and nothing about what needs to be accomplished in the future. Just put downers by Trump. That is the reason with a good economy his numbers never get above 45%. The majority dislike his hateful rhetoric.

He forgot to add that the economy is best it's ever been for big corporations and millionaires. Are working families better off? The American consumer is paying 1.4 billion dollars more every month purchasing everything from shampoo to washing machines because of his so-called "great trade policies". How many ordinary people are wealthier thanks to a soaring stock market? Where is his plan for immigration reform or his new healthcare plan to replace the ACA?

Rather than project anger, he should be campaigning on a positive message of uniting the country and investing in our crumbling infrastructure. How about simply confirming some legitimate experienced cabinet members or appointing ambassadors to the countries that immigrants are fleeing, start with immigration reform right there.

His base numbers are static, but where he's going to have a challenge is with those independent voters who voted for him last time, but they're not part of the 'feet planted in cement' base.

He hits 50% in the least accurate poll and you guys dance in the streets.:lamo That's your idea of popularity. Nevermind the fact that he's in the low 40's in most other polls.

Our lying racist in chief talking to other racists and bigots. And this is news?

Trump rallies are always entertaining and is sure to rile up some liberals. Good fun. I encourage everyone to watch. I'm assuming it will be on Fox and only Fox.

What was the last Trump rally you watched from start to finish?

What 'hate speeches' are those? Maybe you should turn off CNN and start thinking for yourself.

I’ve actually have watched some of these so called rallies. And Trump attacks, derides, and wallows in the cheers from his supporters. Have you watched?

Absolutely. Where is this supposed 'hate' you claim to see?

Tell me what he says that is positive and tell us what he sees for the future.

Why is it incumbent upon him to say something positive while you rabid leftists spew nothing but hatred and anger? He says positive things in every speech he gives. He talks about the economy in every one of them and talks about the things he has accomplished. Yes he rips into the loony left, but so what? Do you somehow believe that only liberals have the right to criticize and people on the right should just take it and be silent? Not gonna happen. You guys can dish it out but you clearly cant take it.

So tell me what he says that is positive and unites the country. That is what I am asking. There is nothing in his speeches that tries to unite the country.

His speeches are pro America. That America hating libs cant get behind that is hardly his fault.

Very true. What's also true, his base isn't growing. For all his rabid supporters, he's turning off just as many people with his harsh cruelty. I honestly can't see him winning a legitimate election.

It already happened in 2016 and its going to happen again. Boy are you guys going to melt down when it does.

His rallies are pro Trump not pro America. The fact that he represents the United States show that is not what he is all about. He divides not unites. He thrives on diversity not unity. Your blind loyalty is noted. Have a nice evening.

I'm not going to melt down but america might. I'm retired and living off the government which you folks on the right hate. I worked for it for a helluva lot of years. Not much trump does actually has any meaning to my life. However, unlike many on the right, I am concerned for my fellow americans even if they aren't concerned for themselves. Be stupid and vote republican and one day maybe you too can end up with a huge medical bill that puts you into the hole for a long long time.

If Nancy Pelosi can keep control of her caucus, we'll see this come to an end for Trump. Nancy Pelosi is pragmatic and she said something that I know she believes, "Trump is self-impeaching". The mess he made this weekend with the racist comments is just one indication that she could be right.

I think people that voted for him only because they didn't want to vote for Hillary Clinton are becoming weary of his bad behavior and chaos. I don't believe he'll get their votes. Three of the states that went for Trump was won by very narrow margins. He may still be getting help from Russia for the 2020, but it's definitely going to be much more in check than it was in 2015.
